I might be confused, because it's been some months since I read the books, but as I recall:
- just 1 or 2 chapters after killing Qhorin, Jon is taken before Mance. In his tent he meets Dalla, Tormund, Styr, Val and Jarl. Have any of these people been cast?
- The actor who plays Jon says he's gonna have a "love story" this season, which means they moved the whole thing with Ygritte from the 3rd book to 2nd season, right?
It's getting really hard to keep up...

Clash ends with Jon killing Qhorin and going off with the Wildlings. He has met Ygritte, but doesn't meet Mance or the Wildling army until A Storm of Swords.

I think the scene of them walking in the forest is before the sack of Winterfell, I could be wrong but I don't think the comet was still visible when they fled.  I'm really hoping that they will drag that plot line to season 3 and introduce the Reeds and Reek/Ramsay then.

I would rather it be like it was in the book with the sack of Winterfell, but with such a huge event like the Battle of the Blackwater for a season ending, I could see it being pushed back. The better get the Reeds in at some point though! And we won't have a crazy plot without Ramsay.

This gives me some hope. I don't follow casting, so when people were saying there were no Reeds or Tullys I figured that meant HBO announced all actors that were going to be on the show and they weren't announced so they wouldn't exist. But if you're saying they don't announce every actor, there is a chance we'll get Meera, Jojen, Edmure, and Brynden. I would sorely miss these characters if they didn't make it to the series.

Brynden is out for sure...  He's a minor character and not everyone's favorite minor character is going to be in the story.  There are already quite a lot of characters.  (As a sidenote..  it seems that Margaery will be doing her own plotting, so no Olenna either).  The Reeds may be combined into one character in Season 3 just because I think that Howland is crucial to the story and they bring in a lot of needed background info about Lyanna and the Rebellion.  Edmure will be in Season 3.  It seems that Cat is hanging out around Robb's camp, not at Riverrun.  Reek is the only one who might be in Season 2 as it is a shocking twist.. however, they might keep that for Season 3 just because Alfie Allen has a huge arc in Season 5/6 and they need to remind people of Theon.

I don't have a problem with them showing Robb's camp and Riverrun later. They couldn't have done it the way they did in the book, where Catelyn only knew what happened after the fact and we never saw any of Robb's battles. That's one change they made that I like. I like Olenna and the Blackfish but I can see why they'd axe them. It looks like Margaery is going to be a little older and wiser, so she probably doesn't need Grandma doing her dirty work.

So if anyone hasn't read it in the HBO-forums yet,
http://insidetv.ew.c...season-3-cast/? here D&D announce which characters will be in season3.

That said, get excited. Here’s who will appear  in season three:

Mance Rayder: We’ve heard about him all season. A former member of the Night’s Watch who became the “King Beyond the Wall,” the leader of the Wildlings.

Daario Naharis: A confident and seductive warrior.

Jojen Reed; Meera Reed: A teenage brother and sister duo with special insights.

Edmure Tully: A brash young member of the Tully family.

Ser Brynden Tully (The Blackfish): Catelyn Stark’s uncle.

Lady Selyse Florent: Stannis Baratheon’s wife.

Shireen: Stannis’ daughter.

Olenna Redwyne (The Queen of Thorns): Margaery Tyrell’s sharp-witted grandmother.

Beric Dondarrion: A skilled knight who is the leader of the outlaw group Brotherhood Without Banners.

Thoros of Myr: A red priest who follows the same religion as Melisandre.

Tormund Giantsbane: A Wildling raider.

Now, if a Book 3 character is not listed here, does that mean they are not in season three? Apparently not. Because Benioff then added: “And a few others…holy hell that’s a lot of new faces.”

maybe they're amongst the "few others", though Oberyn Martell might just show up in S4, since HBO divided the third book in two seasons

Oh amazing stuff.

Do they need Ramsay for Season 3?  I could only see them doing that if they need to keep Alfie Allen in the show.  We only hear about Ramsay for books 3 and 4, we don't ever see him right?

I do hope Oberyn Martell is one of the "few others."  But if ASOS is really going to be two TV seasons, then the King's Landing/Martell Story line could be held back for the second half...

And what about Patchface!!  I know, I know oh oh oh...

I think they keep Alfie in the show, 'cause if people who haven't read the books shall remember him in season 6 or so, you can't exclude him at this point, I guess.

It's officially confirmed that there will be 2 ASOS-seasons, or rather that the third season of GoT will contain the first half of ASOS:

Apparently, the HBO people were asking for short people for extras. The Cranogmen? If so, then it means the Reeds are coming.

I would have posted this in the HBO series forum but "it" wouldn't let me start a topic. Does my reputation for dud topics precede me?  I've never even posted there!

What about Oberyn Martell?

They are splitting the book into two so he won't be in until season 4

How about Mace Tyrell anyone?

I think they can just suggest Theon's torture and Reek stuff without casting Ramsay yet.  Mace could also just be referred to at this point since the Purple Wedding might not even happen till Season 5, not sure tho.
