I think it is safe to say that most readers want to see the North get their revenge for the RW.  If GRRM were to allow Lord Frey to die a natural death from old age it would be a major disappointment for most readers arguably second only to not resolving the R+L=J controversy.

If the RW is avenged what's your prediction (hope, dream, longing, surebet, etc) on how will Lord Walder Frey meets his end and who gets the honor of cutting him down?

Perhaps Lord Frey's new teen bride is a secret Wildling, in love with the Lord Commander of the NW, who allows the 3EC to warg into her and smother Lord Frey on his wedding night with a leg of lamb.

No therory is too crackpot for this thread so have at it.

The most fitting end for Lord Walder that I can see is ...

... He survives everything but is left to wither away alone in the empty Twins, with all of his family either dead or estranged (the Rosbys). That's the irony — the guy who reproduced like a coked-out jackrabbit finds himself completely alone.

I only have two requirements regarding Lord Walder's death: a) it must be done by a Stark and b ) it must be so painful, he begs for death. If that happens, I shall be happy.

he dies of a broken heart when he sees that all that he worked for has been undone
not satisfying, but what I think will happen

Jaime will stab him with Oathkeeper, right after whispering "Catelyn Stark sends her regards" into his ear.

i think he will die in his sleep. :crying:

the only other possibility that i see is arya getting full FM training and then she goes back to Westeros and kills him using her FM habilities

Banging his 16 year old wife.

“Save your sweet words, my lady. Sweet words I get from my wife. Did you see her? Sixteen she is, a little flower, and her honey’s only for me. I wager she gives me a son by this time next year. Perhaps I’ll make him heir, wouldn’t that boil the rest of them?”

Too Tyrionesq for my taste but the odds are in your favor.

Just for the record whores do occassionally sink well at least they did in Porky's and Paint your Wagon ;)

He could see all his male progeny killed, and then die a gruesome, painful death. As recompense for desecrating Robb's corpse Crowfood Umber will make his skull into a drinking cup

I think he will die quietly and comfortably of natural causes, shortly before everything comes apart for his heirs. I think he will escape justice purely out of spite.

He will die peacefully in his sleep, but we will have our fun as the rest of the Freys start killing each other.

You will probably get your wish.  My best guess is that Stoneheart returns the favor, quite possibly during a feast.  O'Sevens arrival during Jaime's POV in DwD screams of foreshadowing.

I am not an fan of the Un-dead characters but would like to see Un-Cat walk into his hall after all his male heirs have been killed and strangle Lord Walder with her own hands and whisper "Mayhaps" into his ear while she does it.

Fire Eater- Crowfoot Umber can have his Skull for a drinking cup after.  I like that idea

I think GRRM plans to have Walder Frey die of natural causes and then the Freys will destroy themselves, thus saving everyone else the work and possibly ruining their good steel and valyrian steel blades on their filthy blood.

I really like the idea of Jaime stabbing him, but my personal preference is for him to be strangled to death by the Greatjon.  Picturing that in my head is just too great for it not to happen.
