right beneath my post count i have acquired a new score: 'warning points.' how many i will not say (at least not until i know what they are all about.)

my wife logged in she too has one. so, it seems it is something that only the user can see.

what is it about?

thanks, folks!

Yeah I was wondering about this too - can someone explain them in full please? Like how you get them, reasons why, who decides, what your limit is, etc. I'm guessing it's like you get so many points and you're banned or something, which is a bit worrying if we don't know how you get them.

Thanks!

This just logs prior warnings you've received. You'll recall the messages you got from moderators. For whatever reason, it's now been made something that users can see on themselves. Which seems rather odd, really, because it's not very useful information for anyone but moderators.

As for the user being able to see his/her warning points, I rather like it. I enjoy knowing where I stand.

(Zero for those inquiring minds. :P)

I don't see any warning points on mine, but I sure do miss the "like" function. Even when posts arguing with or occasionally mocking my views got a lot of points, I enjoyed it, because it allowed me to further examine my own views, consider why they were so unpopular, and in a few cases revise them.

I wonder why the "like" button was gotten rid of, and if it will ever be back? I remember that earlier, they had a different version of the "like" votes, that only allowed a certain amount of votes, but was replaced by this latest version.

Anyone else feeling this way, or am I alone on this?

I found the "like" option helpful too Queen Cersei I. I hope it comes back!

A few warning points and a fist full of bamboo shoots have always worked for me.

Nah, these days, the lady panda needs a bit more wooing than bambooing. I need to get groomed way more often, show off that I care about my appearance. And I need to make an effort to work out more, not just eat and sleep 85% of the time. It's wild, man. Last date I was on, she told me all about this guy she was seeing who was TOTALLY not into reproduction. Just disinterested. She wanted me to reassure her that I would be down with gettin' down, and then NOT eating the kids. Crazy.

Do warning points get deleted over time? Are they protestable? Will then increase my chances of engaging in coitus with female pandas?

I'll leave the panda-coitus-related questions to those more qualified. :P But while there's no formal rule, we can and do sometimes delete old warnings - it depends whether we think they're still relevant. It's honestly not often an issue - most people have zero, one, two or maybe three warnings and the system allows up to ten. If you think a warning is unfair you can PM a moderator to ask about it, and appeal to Ran for a second opinion if you really think there's been bias or serious misjudgment.

Yeah - The notion that only we can see them is a bit funny. I have one, and now I know what it was for having seen this thread's explanation, but at first I was like "Hey, what's going on here? What is this warning point and why am I the only one who has one?"

The board is in performance mode and will be until the end of season 2. Profiles, search, and a variety of other functions are shut off at this time.

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure that I had not done anything inappropriate- at least anything I can remember.
