Continuing our series of interviews Ser Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer. This is actually the third time we’ve interviewed Nikolaj—see here and here—and as always it’s a pleasure to hear from him. Posted ImageThis is the first time we’ve met him in person, and he’s as charming as you might expect. He takes a great deal of relish in this role he plays—a role that he’s indicated (in another interview) features what may well be the best scene he’s ever had to play as an actor—and brings his own perspective to bear on the most loathed knight in the Seven Kingdoms, what makes him tick, and what he wants. And there’s hints, here and there, of things he’s really not allowed to talk about…Read it here!

Q: To clarify when you say the “whole story”, George hasn’t written all the books yet but—

“Oh! No, no, no. I have no special insight into what happens after book five.”

Nice try. :P

Nice comment about Brienne there. :) Should be interesting to see what they kept in the series vs the books since the Jaime/Brienne interactions are among my favourites.

I seriously can't wait to see how that is transferred to screen, I wonder how Brienne is played, we'll find out soon.

I think the lass chosen to play Brienne is prettier than as described in the books.

I can't wait to see what's planned for Jaime this season. They may give him some book 3 material to work with since he can't spend the whole season as prisoner which means we will probably get earlier Jaime/Brienne action.

I'm really looking forward to season 3 because of their scenes!!! That sexual tension is something to wait for.

Do you all list all the Thronecast inverviews on this forum.
Seems I have not seen the ones with Sophie Turner, the new one with Maisie Williams , the one with Gemma Whelan (that was one I had not expected), the recent one with Isaac Hempstead-Wright. I think all the others have been mentioned here.

Has Conleth Hill ever been interviewed?, about the show, anywhere, live or in print... we are way down the way now.

There has been a short one with Aidan Gillen but never I think one with Iain Glen.

I would love to see a live interview with Rory McCann, maybe I missed one?

I have seen some short interview with Lena Headey , but nothing very long.

Stephen Dillane seems in short supply on the interview market!

Lots of others.... do some just not do interviews?

I'm told Conleth's quoted in the Inside Game of Thrones book, but no, he doesn't do much interviewing. Gillen, I don't think he's done any really GoT-specific interview yet -- though he has had a couple that touched on it in Irish papers. There was a long one with Headey last year... not so much this year, but she's been busy with Judge Dredd I think. Dillane is very scarce, much as Fairley was last year -- he may not be a fan of doing publicity, but maybe next season... There's been a couple of McCann ones, too, but we haven't interviewed him yet ourselves.

Wondered if HBO is gonna allow a ComicCon appearance this year? Does that come during the shooting schedule?
Like to see em bring some different actors ... I am thinking Peter has probably gotten kind of worn out.

Others i would like to see are Francis Magee ....James Cosmo...John Bradley
I don't think...?... I have seen an off stage interview with Carice van Houten, except a couple of short in print ones.

Gwendoline Christie do a more lengthy one than she has, I don't think I have seen her do a live one yet...tho she was at the 'DVD party'.

It was odd to see Miltos Yerolemou turn up on Thronecast .... if one could call that an interview.

One has to keep Google-ing them , for instance the Los Angles Times Entertainment section had an interview with Carice van Houten yesterday, about the show, I mean a in print interview, she was in hometown Amsterdam. I guess news organizations have cleb telephone numbers. This was a longer one than I have seen before and they do talk about the show.

Of note:

Several things if she was wearing a merkin in that birthing scene I didn't see it, she said she did, unless it was the earlier nude scene , just looked like a prosthetic tummy, they did a very good job. (I don't understand the deal about merkins , all actresses shave nowdays? Lucy Lawless has long exposition about merkins in an interview with her about the STARZ Startacus show, it's quite funny.)Anyway enough of that!

The interview mentioned how her Dutch accent went with being from Asshai. Does Carice really have a Dutch sounding accent? To my ears she has a subtle sounding unidentifiable accent!
I swear in person, I have seen her interviewed on video before , like so many Dutch, Danish , Scandinavian actors they seem to come on with what sounds almost like a flat Midwestern American accent , maybe it's because they can speak idiomatic American English. Noomi Rapace does not have, seem to have ,any accented English in her vocabulary, it's kind of weird. Usually French and Italian actors have an accent, most Germans, but not all. O well.

Weird, Winter is Coming has a long interview with Amrita Acharia, who played, Irri, yesterday also, didn't expect that... no nothing is really explained about her character , to my satisfaction at least.

Now there is a long interview with Conleth Hill and Ciarán Hinds on YouTube about a play they were in, so seems Hill does not mind interview.

Come tho think of it Ciarán Hinds would be great on this show , an Iron Born role comes to mind.

I have seen some guerilla interviews with some actors (I don't mean the paparazzi type), Dance was in one and was quite gracious Maisie does them too, but she seems to be having fun!
Maybe Hill would not like something like that?

I like real off-set non docu-interviews like Thronecast does...those , those, some, do wander a bit a times.

There'll be a GoT presence at SDCC this year, and GRRM's making room in his schedule to drop by for a day before he goes on to Spain, apparently.

I love how deep understanding NCW has of the character. I'm so glad Jaime is in safe hands.
Excellent interview, thank you.
