Calibandar
Well, that's not impossible. And yet, it could also be the listing for the next book, and that that is what the title to be confirmed refers to.If they update the product later this year, we will know. Maltaran
I thought the title of the next book was confirmed as Assail?
Werthead
No, Assail was only a working title. ICE might keep it - it pretty much tells you what you need to know about the book - but I suspect it will change. With all the stuff going on in it - the Crimson Guard, Silverfox, the T'lan Imass, Kyle, the Tyrants, probably fifty other things - there's probably quite a lot to choose from.AFAIK, Assail doesn't have a jungle on it, so City in the Jungle would be an inaccurate title in any case. Carolus Rex
So far I really like Blood and Bone. It feels somehow much more finished than his other books.I'm still pretty dissapointed about everything he's written about the Crimson Guard. I hyped the Guard to the skies when I first read about Iron Bars, but then everything kinda dwindled down to some Big Brother soap, but with swords (which would be an awesome realityshow btw )I'm only half way through it yet, but it looks promising. I don't really like that I can actually follow the story. What have been one of my favourite parts in the Malazan books is that I have no idea what the hell is happening most of the time.I hope Blood and Bone will twist and turn a couple of times before the end :)And I also hope Kallor, that walking sack of shit, will get his due in this book. Ayx
What do you say? Kallor is awesome. He's the only sane guy in entire Malazan universe :-)
Calibandar
Well, that's not impossible. And yet, it could also be the listing for the next book, and that that is what the title to be confirmed refers to.If they update the product later this year, we will know.Well, the listing on Amazon UK has been updated, the forthcoming book is now titled "Assail" and it is still scheduled to come out in November 2013. Jussi
Plot synopsis for Assail:The final chapter in the awesome, epic story of the Malazan empire.Tens of thousands of years of ice is melting, and the land of Assail, long a byword for menace and inaccessibility, is at last yielding its secrets. Tales of gold discovered in the region's north circulate in every waterfront dive and sailor's tavern and now countless adventurers and fortune-seekers have set sail in search of riches. All these adveturers have to guide them are legends and garbled tales of the dangers that lie in wait -- hostile coasts, fields of ice, impassable barriers and strange, terrifying creatures. But all accounts concur that the people of the north meet all trespassers with the sword. And beyond are rumoured to lurk Elder monsters out of history's very beginnings. Into this turmoil ventures the mercenary company, the Crimson Guard. Not drawn by contract, but by the promise of answers: answers to mysteries that Shimmer, second in command, wonders should even be sought. Arriving also, part of an uneasy alliance of Malazan fortune-hunters and Letherii soldiery, comes the bard Fisher kel Tath. And with him is a Tiste Andii who was found washed ashore and who cannot remember his past life, yet who commands far more power than he really should. Also venturing north is said to be a mighty champion, a man who once fought for the Malazans, the bearer of a sword that slays gods: Whiteblade. And lastly, far to the south, a woman guards the shore awaiting both her allies and her enemies. Silverfox, newly incarnated Summoner of the undying army of the T'lan Imass, will do anything to stop the renewal of an ages-old crusade that could lay waste to the entire continent and beyond. Casting light on mysteries spanning the Malazan empire, and offering a glimpse of the storied and epic history that shaped it, Assail is the final chapter in the epic story of the Empire of Malaz.http://www.bookloung...n=9780593064481
Lord of Rhinos
FFS, is that actually from the publisher? Did they fire all their editors and replace them with stoned sixteen year olds who have no idea what grammar is?
Darth Richard
You must not have read a book synopsis in the last decade or so. That's actually pretty good compared to most. :(
Calibandar
The sentence construction is off sometimes. That said, an exciting synopsis.Wonder who the Tiste Andii is. And what would the renewed age old crusade that crushes continents be?
