I just hope Ellis doesn't fuck up the ending (Planetary), get lazy with the plot details that explain why things happen (Gravel), or just lose himself in his need for shock value even when writing some nicely worded sentences (Transmetropolitan).

*shrug*

I vastly prefer his non-comics work. Give me Crooked Little Vein, Shivering Sands, and Do Anything over his comics.

Oh don't get me wrong, Ellis can do really good work, just seems to fall a little short a lot of the time.

Wow, that Tregillis cover is SOO generic and so un-genre. :ack: It looks like it could be a Mack Bolan cover, maybe that's Tor's aim with it?

Is this a Torchwood tie-in novel?

Yes it is terrible, but I did not like the cover for Coldest War either.

It seems like they switched style again mid-series, because the first one was quite nice.

Great covers, but that Bear cover is beyond great.

I haven't been a fan of the covers for these books, and this one doesn't tell me much about the book other than Bronte-fantasy, or in other words avoid.  Of course, what's between the cover is likely great as MRK has received a great deal of praise.

It certainly does not do anything for me. Not as egrigious as some others, like all of Jordan's books, but nothing great.
