...which made me think of:
from ASOS
Quote
In his chainmail shirt with a sword in his hand, Gendry looked almost a man grown, and dangerous. Hot Pie looked like Hot Pie.

He is Azor Apie, The Pie that was Promised, born amid salt (in the pastry) and smoke (burning baked goods). It is known.

I will always love Hot Pie, for all the belly laughs he gave me the first time I read ACoK....I don't think I had ever laughed so hard!
Along with Hodor, Hot Pie is one of those characters that must never die or my heart would seriously break.
As so many of you have suggested, I think Hot Pie should open a bakery selling Frey Pies, Sweeny Todd style. Would be such a service for the realm during the long Winter....

I'm pretty sure GRRM will have some place for a little comic relief at the end of ADoS. Hot Pie wielding a sword and shouting 'Hot Pie' would be a prime example. Even though GRRM is making us go through a horrible chain of events, this series is still fantasy and we all want to see Frodo reunite with Gandalf and having some fun.

I wish I could share your optimism!

Ser Hot will be the stark family baker when all is done. Of that I am more sure than most things.

He wasn't anything special. But I liked him too. I liked him because he was just some noob being dragged along for the ride. All he wanted to do was pie.

I can be wrong, but when Cersei had her "walk of shame" she heard a distant boy yelling "Hot pies, hot pies" I could of course be wrong, be I'm sure she heard a boy yelling some baked stuff at least, my first reaction was that it was Hot Pie himself.

"Grandpa Hot Pie please tell us about the war against the Others and how you defeated them with extra hot pies while the main characters were still trying to complete their story arcs near the end of book 7!"

personaly i'm suprised no one else has picked up on this as GRRM makes it pretty clear.
Hot Pie is the real Agon Targaryan, The Prince That Was Promised, the third head of the dragon, and to top it all of Rhalor the lord of light manifested in human form. (also did I mention he killed Joffery)
for proof read on...
It all started during the sack of Kings Landing, the young baby Agon lay in crib in the red keep, blissfully unaware of his fast aproaching death at the hands of Gregor Clegane, when all of a sudden Varys slips into the empty room and swaps Agon for an imposter. then procceding to escape from the red keep via the sewers Varys re emerges in Flee Bottom with the real Agon whom he then re names....... Hot Pie.
as mad as this may seem it actualy makes sense as we know that Hot pie was an orphan and lived in flee bottom. Varys then left him in a bakery where Baby Agon was reborn as hot pie amidst the salt and smoke of the Kitchen. so the unravaling of the prophecy begins. however it doesn't stop there, hot pie was also born at the end of the Targaryan dynasty, this metaphore is what the prophecy refers to as the long summer and the gathering darkness is roberts rebelion. furthermore the bleeding star refers to the death of Rhagar Targaryan as Rhagar is infact a star as he is to farther the three heads of the dragon, and stars are where dragons come from, (this is known, it was mentioned in one of danny's chapters in AGOT by a dothraki, and they know what they are talking about). as for wealding lightbringer Hot Pie is lightbringer, as he is Rhalor manifestedin Human form, this explains why Hot Pie was trying to make his way with Joren to the wall, so he could reveal himself and defeat the others, as for drawing lightbringer from fire, Hot pie will sacrifise himself by throwing himself on a huge pire and thus release the lord of light within him via the cliche method of worship amoungs lord of light followers, (making sense yet?) then as the lord of light he will banish the darkness aka the others and fulfill the profecy and save westeros. horray for Hot Pie!! however after the death of Joren and the turmoil in the neck and riverlands Hot pie relised it wasn't the time to go to the wall so he bailed on hot pie under the false pretext that he was to stay at the inn. then he returned to kings landing and killed joffery by getting a job in the red keep kitchens (he aced his interview) and poisoning the food at the wedding with untracable poisen so as to extract revenge on his farther as best he could and because Joffery was jeperdising the nights watch. and that my freinds is the untold story of Hot Pie, it will all be confirmed in his upcoming POV.
N.B Varrys changed the color of his hair to black using his renowed appearance changing abilities. he also saw to it that he was kept well fed to ensure survival, this explains how a common orphan from flee bottom could become so fat. he is the third head of the dragon because he is rhagar's son. he is the 'fire' in a song of ice and fire.

The Wolf Pack has to come back.
Forget The Hangover...
Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie, and it would be great if Nymeria finds Arya again. Would be so moving if this throat-ripping huntress and leader of the pack walks right back to her former owner Arya and is as affectionate as Ghost is with Jon.
And funny because she is probably as tough and seasoned now as her owner so the combination of the two...
Maybe I should put this on the have you cried thread? Because when Arya had to send the pup away and throw rocks and yell only to save her if was heart-wrenching. Extra affection to my dog on that day of reading.
