I hope we'll see Vargo Hoat and Qyburn. Well, judging from the recent buzz, the former could be in S3.

Another one I'd love to see (although he didn't have much page time in SoS) is Lord Badass Randyll Tarly, apparently described as the finest soldier in all of Westeros, more dangerous than Mace Tyrell and the Boba Fett of the Seven Kingdoms.

Chuck Norris is and has always been the obvious choice for Tarly.

Anyone notice the lack of Ramsay Bolton on that list?

They must be recasting Beric Dondarrion. I guess the actor from S1 wasn't much of an actor.

If the Bastard of Bolton appears in Season 2, or perhaps already has appeared, then he wouldn't be listed as "new in Season 3".

thats not the full list... just a few... I'm sure they'll cast like 6 more characters... the goat aint on that list either

EDIT: On second thought: Oberyn could be introduced in season 4.

I'd be surprised if Oberyn isn't introduced in S3, or at least the latter half of it. Also... the lack of Ramsay...

Can't wait to see (proper?) Beric and Thoros. They were always two of my favourite "minor" characters.

I like Maggie Smith for Queen of Thorns glad to see others like her for the role too. The idea of Caitlin Stasy for Meera sounds great but I thought they were looking for people under 5 feet so she might be ruled out.

She would be awesome, but I don't see it happening.  There was talk she would be leaving Downton Abbey, apparently because, at her age, the shooting schedule is getting to be a bit much, and she wants to go back to doing movies (shorter shooting schedule).  She had finally signed-on to return to Downton for the 3rd series, last I heard, but the rumor is she'll die in this series.  They've confirmed a major character death, and, since she only signed for the 3rd series (and not the next several, as some of the others did), it's pretty likely to be her.  At least, that's the skuttle-butt.

I've heard this too but I have been trying to tell myself that maybe she can be talked into it since the Queen of Thorns is a rather small role, certainly much smaller than her role in Downton Abbey and wouldn't require much time for filming.
