I'm not talking about characters, but concepts and events. We've yet to hear about the Children of the Forest (whom are described in quite a bit of detail at the end of the first book). There's been no mention of any of the big prophecies, including the Prince That Was Promised and the entire Azor Ahai legend. In addition, the events surrounding some of the history is rather vague. There's not even a mention of the Tower of Joy or what happened there, which is really weird considering how much it featured in the first book. I also feel like non-book readers will find it very jarring and even confusing when Aegon suddenly returns in the fourth or fifth season, considering that I think there are only two mentions of him in the TV show.

Obviously they have time to do most of this still, and I expect will hear about the messianic prophecies this season (Azor Ahai from Melisandre, and TPTWP from The House of the Undying). But I feel like the Children of the Forest, in particular, was something that should have been at least mentioned to Bran last season, either from Maester Luwin or Osha.

Well after last night's episode, I have a feeling Bran will be learning about the Children at least. They probably didn't want to get into it in the first season, since it is one of the heavier fantasy elements of the series.

I'm not even sure we'll have the House of the Undying this season... too expensive... or they will considerably reduce it which will be very frustrating... let's say this is one of my main interrogation this season. Guess it would occur around episode 6, so, really curious about this.

It'll be more like somewhere from 7 to 9. If it happens. I do wonder how they'll go about it or if they'll even try it.

Nope, it wasnt.

As for the HOTU, yeah, maybe more of episode 8, maybe, leaving Dany's departure from Qarth in episode 10. Looking forward to the coming back of Ser Grandfather.

I'm positive they'll do the House of the Undying. Episode seven says "Dany receives an invitation", which can really only mean the Warlocks (plus the timing works). In addition, the scenes at the HotU are literally the most important part of her entire story in the second book; nothing else nearly as interesting or "action" oriented happens. So there's no way they're going to push it off until next season. The real question is, which parts of it will they actually show? The only one I'm quite certain we'll see in some form is Rhaegar with the baby, since that's the first time we hear of the Prince That Was Promised, and also the line "his is the song of ice and fire", which I'm sure will have significance later in the story. They'll also probably do the Wolf King at the feast. Beyond that it's hard to say.

I hope that they introduce the Tower of Joy mystery in the House of the Undying. As for Children of the Forest, if the Reeds are indeed going to meet up with Bran in the third season like many people think that they will, they'd be a good source for the introduction of the Children of the Forest.

Bran did mention the Children of the Forest in this week's episode and Luwin said they were dead long ago...but they were mentioned.

I am most worried about the lack of Meera and Jojen. They should have been introduced by now. I can't imagine the Bran story line without them.

I want more episodes per season so they'd have time to explore the important stuff and not rush through things. and you must admit, the flashbacks are important if you want to understand the characters properly.

Yup, as the books get longer they can't just resort to 10 episodes anymore to cover the book. I would of liked if seson2 was about 12 episodes.

I really think the religions need to be explained a bit more clearly.  I don't think most viewers know the different between any of the Gods.  They just know that Ned likes to pray to a tree, and maybe that Theon believes in some kind of water God.  But I am not sure that viewers are all clear about The Seven vs. R'hollor, etc.

But the religions *are* being explored in far more detail this season already. And we'll see more of it.

This clip, "Religions of Westeros" shows a lot of season 2 scenes (some from yet to be aired episodes) that highlight the faiths in different ways: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=gvZDPL50jmI

After this season they will no longer adapt a book per season, so it looks like they will be giving the material as much time to breath as they think it needs. It may not be the answer you are looking for to have less "rushing through" but it should have the same effect.

Still, unless you watch that clip, a typical viewer could still be easily confused by the different religions.

The clip is not what people will see in the episodes. SOME thinking and putting the pieces together is needed by the audience. I do think that the differences will be made clear enough for people who pay attention. This is a TV show, not a history lesson. My point was simply they ARE putting more emphasis on religions than they did during season 1. Will you want more than that? Quite probably. But at some point one ought to be grateful for the crumbs they are dropping.

Okay.  Calm down.  I was just saying it still seems a little confusing to some viewers, based on what some friends are telling me.  That's all.

i wouldn't worry too much as george is in the conversations the writers have and they have the utmost respect for him and how the books were written. the house of the undying is one of the most important parts if not the most important part in book two to foreshadow events that have shaped the past and the future. i'm not too worried at all as they did a spectacular job with season 2 so far. the actors are spot on with their portrayals and you can argue that game of thrones could have several actors nominated for awards : "lena, peter dinklage, conleth hill " varys " , the actors that play pycelle and sam, all of them are done extremely well because benioff and weiss have passion for making this show a monster. i have complete faith that going forward that the song of fire and ice one of the best stories ever written and told will continue to be a smash hit and continue to be regarded among the best television shows for years to come.

as for everyone complaining about the reed's i totally get that, i totally understand why people would be upset if they didn't get included in the story. but if it means that maester luwin takes bran with hodor or osha and rickon take off or the reed's show up next season i'm not too worried. i think they it's pretty obvious that they're making maester luwin important and perhaps won't have him offed, that's my hope anyways. i think it would make for an amazing journey for bran to have one of the most intelligent maesters in all the realm helping him stay alive and learn. that's just my take anyways!
