It would be nice to learn some more about the various organizations operating in Westeros and Essos.

Btw, is the Alchemist's Guild a Westerosy organization? because we know there are Alchemist's in Lys and other places in Essos.

I would assume that the guild(s) may be local organizations but connected with each other in a system. After all there are probably smithing guilds in both Westeros and the Free Cities.

They may well be that in Essos. In Westeros most such things seems to be done as entrepreneurs.

yeah it's interestign how the world's main bank is in Braavos and not, say, Qarth "the centre of all the world's commerce." Of course that might be just the Qartheen gallavanting.

Braavos is just more modern and progressive than Qarth, so they invented modern banking first.
