Most of us think that this has already/going to happen in WOW. But how will it be accomplished?

We know that Storm's End is currently held by 300 (hah) of Stannis's men. The men inside have had plenty of time to prepare for a siege (I don't even think they were being sieged during ASOS), so they're still probably in fighting shape. They've been holding the castle for a long time, so they probably aren't going to just give up any time soon. And storming the walls will cost the Golden Company thousands of men, and they don't have to many to spare. So how will they do it?

My guess was they would attack the remaining Tyrell force, hoping that the men inside the castle will come out and aid in the attack, then kill the defenders. The only problem is that that will alienate the Reach men they think they can win over. Any thoughts?

Jon Connington said by guile. So I would asume the best way is to scale the walls in a small group and open the gates. They can send their best archers to be even more stealthy. That's the only thing I can think of,

If I had to guess, there's either some structural secret Jon Con knows about, or more likely there will be an insider.

I'd say that Aegon is going to dress up as an Avon lady and go knocking on the door with a case of lipsticks in hand.

Or it would be kind of cool if they did a Trojan Horse kind of thing. Maybe an Essos Elephant instead.

When I think of taking it by guile, I think of using trickery to do it, perhaps using disguises? Or even a huge fake army to force them to yield? This is just wild speculation on my part though. When he said I had the image in my head of him asking for 20 ravens and 100 cats to leave them alone, then tying burning bits of material to the animals and setting them free to run home, causing chaos in Storm's End and letting him take the castle easily... again just a random thought based on Attila the Hun (I think).

If I'm remembering the situation correctly, storm's end is no longer being besieged by the Tyrell's, as Mace returned his army to kings landing when he heard of Margeary's accusations. If this is the case, I believe that the men holding Storm's end may open the gates believing that Stannis has hired the golden company as reinforcements. In the long term, I see a meeting between Mace and Aegon where Margy finds herself with another new husband and poor Tommen either meets a nasty end or gets held as a hostage along with Tyrek and the other lost boys of the series. Tyrells + Aegon = Targ on the throne until Dany returns and burninates the lot of them.

With Fire and Blood.

But seriously I doubt many men hold Storms End at this point, so they could sneak in and take it from the inside like Theon did Winterfell.

Yes, this.

Parallel structure is that Jon Con took his own castle easily because he knew exactly where to attack. Also Griffins's Roost had a bolt hole down to the sea, which could also have been a way into the castle. We know there are secret places in Storm's End, because Loras buried Renly in one (no, I am not making an inuendo about their relationship, but that sentence sure came out looking that way and I am not changing it because it turned out rather funny by mistake, oh well).

So where would Jon Con's inside information about Storm's End come from, is that something I missed or forgot? Anyone got ideas on this?

They could use that dock where Davos brought Lady Melisandre.

The best strategy I can think of is to attack the small Tyrell army holding the siege, claiming the Golden Company is a relief army hired by Stannis. Then march right through the gates and take over.

I thought of them doing something like that, but the problem is that attacking the Tyrell relief force would tick off the allies they want to win over. And I think lying like that would cost them their negotiating power. Plus, I don't think anyone knows Stannis is getting help from the Iron Bank.

That does seem to be the most logical option - attack the besieging force, maybe use banners associated with Stannis (including those of bannermen like Estermont, maybe) and claim to be a relief force sent by Stannis.

Attacking the Tyrell army is no problem because the Tyrells are their enemies - the GC is planning to fight an entire army of the Tyrells soon! I think the "allies in the Reach" thing is overstated, people seem to expect half the Tyrell army is secretly with Aegon - I don't think so.
As for the Iron Bank, if no one knows about it then no one will care. Aegon and co wouldn't be stopped by that anyway, I doubt they expect much sympathy from Braavos (which is known to be anti-dragons).

So many people seem to think Stannis will also use trickery to take Winterfell; it seems weird that Aegon will be taking his own castle by trickery at the same time - or maybe it's just supposed to be ironic?  Some of these suggestions also seem to closely echo the way Ramsay fooled Theon and Rodrik Cassel's forces.  I'd like to see something different.

The castle is currently sieged by Mathis Rowan and as token force (no more than 1000 most likely). This can be overrun easily by Aegon and the Golden company. Aegon can then point out the he saved the castle while Stannis abandoned them to go to the other side of the continent. The castle will then most likely surrender to them...

In the preview chapter we do hear Stannis telling one of his flunkies to hire sell-swords, preferably the GC, so if he informed SE of this it could prove dangerous for the men he left to hold it

The only thing that comes to mind would be trickery, but I doubt the young commander will have much patience for the matter (as shown in Tyrions cyvasse games).

Storms End should not fall at all, I think it would be great to actually see them have a set back.
