And I'm sorry for Newcastle but I'm totally going to be supporting Chelsea for the first time in my life.

I can't really see Chelsea beating either Madrid or Bayern with all those players missing but you never know. Just deserts for for the smug Barca bastards though.

Barca were poor tonight and deserved to go out. Chelsea were boringly defensive but with that tosser Terry out and Ivanovic, Ramires etc. they will get hammered anyway, should be sweet.

And what goals!!
I can't believe Torres got the goal after being such a donkey when he came on. I swear, a beat up, tired out Drogba ran more than him.
By the way, how big a fucking douche was Geoff Shreeves to Ivanovic in the post-game interview? He told him twice that he wouldn't get to play in the final.
Congrats Chelsea.

And yes it was a great goal for Torres. He showed amazing awareness to know to make the run from his own half knowing that he could not be called offsides, he showed the composure to take the keeper and not choke when taking the finish. What he did was ten times harder than missing a pk was,.... Messi.
That goal was a stoppage-time killer. My nerves didn't go away until Torres put that goal away bc me and everyone else knows that Barca could have easily won it at any moment and they were getting pretty close there in the end. Torres finished it. I'm happy to give him props, although that doesn't mean that he should displace Drogba if they should stay with a single striker. But if they go to two up front, then he's earned the right.

Five million prize money for appearing in the final, ten million for winning, plus the extra revenue distribution. For scoring the goal that made sure they went through. Aye, big props to the lanky blond prima donna.

if he does that, THEN he will justify his ridiculous signing fee.

Of course I've seen plenty of speculation that Abramovich is only sticking around at Chelsea to win the CL and will bail once that is accomplished, so this goal might ultimately doom the club to financial ruin instead.

There is the small matter of the fact that Real aren't in the final and are 1-0 down to Bayern...

Over two games Barca has played poorly and still squandered many chances. It just wasn't to be for them. Messi knows he wasn't good these two games, but it wasn't all down to him.
I wouldn't write Chelsea off for the final. That's what people though about this semi as well, and they are a veteran side with a lot of experience in big games.

Well, normally their first plan works like a charm. I have a feeling though that this Barca side is on the downslide. Perhaps they've won so much that they've lost their hunger, or perhaps they're just over the hill (IIRC both Iniesta and Xavi are over thirty). Even Messi can't score and win all the time.
Having said that, their style of play favoured Chelsea's favoured defensive strategy. Chelsea has become really dull to watch, and Drogba is an atrocity to everyone watching the match at home. He should definitely be given a Golden Razzie next time around.

I really dislike them too, but I expect them to beat Bayern. Bayern has a weak defense, and Real has lots and LOTS of talent up front. It could be a severe defeat for Bayern.

It's amusing and astounding to me that Roberto di Matteo, a manager sacked from West Bromwich Albion because he wasn't good enough, is now 90 minutes from winning a European Cup. Football: funny old game, eh?
