[Book Spoilers]Best scene of all time?

Recommended Posts

I agree it would be awesome if it's the scene with King Aerys yelling burn them all and Jaime being conflicted but earning his nickname. But, they haven't cast Aerys (although that would be a great secret).

But, in most reality it is Jaime's drunken parlay with Cat. He has to play both an asshole, a drunk, and a character with whom you have to feel sympathy for- he saved the realm but earned the worst reputation for it.

Yes, that is what I was thinking too, this dialogue much be so much pleasure for an actor, you said it perfectly:

In the preview for episode 7, they show Jaime talking with Alton Lannister, so maaaaaayyyyybbbeeee that could be the distant relative. It will be interesting to see if it in fact does turn out to be Talisa/Jeyne. If it is Talisa/Jeyne, it removes all possibility that she could have escaped with the blackfish or that she is pregnant with Robb's child

Most likely but I will argue with this just in case I'm right. In which case I'll parade it in your faces.

While I'm sure they will need to have another chat before Cat releases him, they already had this scene in Season 1.

It's probably him and Cat, which I'm not even sad about because Fairly is killing her shit this season.

HOWEVER, a flashback with Aerys and his gnarled old finger nails, is the stuff of dreams. Could you even imagine if we got a scene with Ned's dad (Rickon?) roasting in his armor?

I have no idea what they're going to do in Dany's visions case, but so far we haven't seen Bran's visions, either. Though I don't remember when this particular one with the Heart of Winter and ice cold Jon happens, maybe further in the books. What D&D said related more to flashbacks from the past like Lyanna dying, Robert's rebellion etc., not visions. I would love to see all the flashbacks - both from history and from visions, but I'm afraid they're not going to show much out of budget reasons. In I season DVD/Blu-ray extras we've got animated history, perhaps that's all for the past events. (And those are great, check them if you haven't seen them yet!) Other thing is I do not remember the exact words of D&D nor where I've red/heard them, so maybe they related to the I season only. I'll try to find that interview.

Eh, depends. I'd love to see S3 open with the flashback of a seventeen-year-old Jaime murdering the pyromancers, taking out this insane fucking lunatic with three-foot long nails in the throne room, and sitting upon the Iron Throne, violently waking up on the boat when Ned Stark rides in. Would set the scene brilliantly for what's to come.

If well done it might work this way, but only as a season intro, or an episode intro....

I would bet that Bran and Rickon are "murdered", and Cat releases Jaime escorted by Brienne. NCW is one of their best actors, and he's been in, what, 1 scene this season? I notice they have been mixing plot lines to allow for more airtime for everyone (eg Arya and Tywin, Roose and Robb, Littlefinger and Tyrells, Tywin).

The flashback scenes of Aerys killing Rickard were shot though they seem to have Sean Bean playing Brandon.

I think they considered using them in S1 but abandoned the idea. There is a screenshot of Ned with ropes around his neck whilst the Mad King looks on round here somewhere.

I remember this picture, but I do not believe that was Sean Bean.
