I looked for a thread like this and couldn't find one! I found most useless, but I don't like that connotation.

So, who is your favorite random character in the series. You can come up with your own way of interpreting random, but to me, it is a character who is not central to the plot, but is still memorable and cool.  Also, you can include bizarre characters, or characters who you thought stood out for just being so different from anyone else in the novels.

I will start with one of my favorites (I have many):

Casso, King of Seals: I love this guy! He is such a cool character to me, and his name alone is random.  Plus it was nice to have a fun, lighthearted character of sorts in Arya's dark storyline. Who doesn't like seals?

Have fun with it..I look forward to seeing everyone's choices!

Dolorous Edd is quite enjoyable to me.  A miserable person to spend any time with but it's fun to read.

Of my favorite "non-major" characters I have to say I enjoy Bronn quite a bit but he's not really random.

Eddard Stark.
The books never quite explain who he is or why he's in King's Landing, but I enjoy his antics.

The dwarf septon who gave Brienne his seat.
Also, the nameless man who rode to Meereen to warn Dany about the approaching Volanti forces, only to die as soon as he delivered his message.

Ned Stark's guardsman that died in the throne room.  You know, the one on the left, with a spear exploding out of his chest.  I know he's just a lowly redshirt, but man did he die in style. :cool4:

Dagmer Cleftjaw.

The man who, according to an Old Nan story (so it must be true) had his head "cut in two with an axe, but was so fierce he'd just pushed the two halves back together and held them until they healed up."

Also he was the only guy in the whole Iron Islands who was happy to have Theon come home, so dude clearly has a big heart, too.

Godrick Borrell! He was excellent.

I am going to have to say Patchface for sure. I love him, especially in ACOK when they explain his backstory.

Ser Parmen Crane.  And all he's done is be a prisoner for the majority of the series.  I'm not sure he's even had a line.  Poor guy needs to catch a break!

Cuz he's harder than the Hound and killed roughly half (just an estimate) of Stannis' army at the Blackwater. The dude makes Areoh Hotah worried. Also, he went back to back with Mandon Moore for maximum slaying power. He is also a favorite of mine.

I liked the Serry who stood up to Victarion while he was doing his berserker thing on the Shield Islanders' ship. Didn't work out for him, but he tried.
