I've been looking at a lot of different threads, and at the hundreds of outcomes for the Iron Throne.
And it seems there's been a lot of speculation about the KING of Westeros, but not so much the Queen.

There are several notable women with the oppertunity for a crown.
- Cersie, already a Queen and clutching to it like hell.
- Myrcella, Dorne wants her as Queen.
- Daenerys, she'll conquer her way to a crown.
- Sansa, possible Queen in the North.
- Jeyne, already a Queen through Robb, though lost now.
- Margery, already a Queen through 3 Kings.
- Shireen, Stannis' only hier.
- Melisandre, no royal, but in control of Stannis.
- Arianne, hier to Dorne.
- Asha, rightful heir to the Seastone Chair.
- Unknown usurper that we have yet to expect.

Which one would you prefer as the Queen of Westeros? Why?

Maybe there's been a lack of threads because a queen has never ruled in her own right on the Iron Throne or in the North.

I would eliminate Sansa and Myrcella because I don't want children.

Jeyne was very irrelevant to me.

Definitely not Cersei.

Dany is still learning but she needs to make some adjustments.

Margaery has the love of the people like Good Queen Alysanne who I think is the model queen but she's also is ruled by Mance. EDIT: Mace

So none of them basically.

Dany is the only (current) Queen who is fighting for the throne in her own right. Sansa has been disinherited from the North, whilst Cersei and Margaery gain all their power through Tommen.

So... yeah. Daenerys Stormborn it is. :)

ETA: Myrcella would probably be a great Queen in a few years... Unfortunately, she's only a child and her claim to the throne is very limited.

I agree, Arianne may be the best Queen of Westeros... Myrcella, later, will too...

Val Wild-Born, the First of Her Name, Queen of Andals, the Rhyonar and the First Men, Lady of the Great Green Forest, Breaker of Idiocy and Mother of Good Sense.

(who's too cool to ever sit and polish a throne anyway).

I don't think Arya would do well in a leadership position especially if it involved all of Westeros. She does have a quality that most people of her social status don't have and it's her ability to connect with the people of Westeros whether high or low born.

EDIT: I think Alysanne had that quality too because she had charities and got rid of First Night rights.

I am almost sure that Sansa will make it, as queen to Aegon, so she can have a happy end but i would love to see Arianne or Jeyne on the throne.

Asha is the only female candidate I feel we know enough about to say she'd be a (somewhat) worthy ruler.  She's probably the best potential monarch presented in the series.  There's a possibility Dany may develop into a just and capable queen too, though she is a long, long way off.

To be honest, however, monarchy and feudalism is an inherently flawed system; the best outcome for the Iron Throne is for it to be melted down and the lords to get together and create a parliament.  I suspect that won't happen.

Shireen and Selyse deserve to be mentioned in the first post, by the way.

Queen Dany, but she should choose her council wisely and listen to their advice when she needs too. Then again, every king/queen should do that, but very few actually do. Besides Cersei, she's the only other one who seems willing to take up the task, but unlike Cersei she actually has genuine compassion for people and does gives two shits about the people she is ruling.

Asha Greyjoy might be another good choice, but I think she would only want to rule the ironborn, not all of Westeros. Being queen of Westeros is not something that seem like it would appeal to someone like Asha.

Depends on what kind of Queen we are talking about: One who actually rules, or one who is basically a "trophy" Queen who takes a backseat to her King.

Ruling Queen:  Myrcella showed potential.  If she had a regent for a few years, when she grew up she probably would have had a mind for ruling. She always came across as mature for her age, gentler than her mother and she was very good at cyvasse.  I'm aware that is kind of flimsy evidence, but unfortunately I don't have a lot to work with here.

Trophy Queen:  Sansa, the scene where she stands up to calm the people in Maegor's holdfast during the BoB was a good indication of what kind of queen she would have been imo.   Margaery Tyrell was also doing pretty good at it, her and Tommen might have actually been a good pair if Cersei hadn't wrecked things.

I would not call Margary a bad luck, I would call her sheming hypocrite.

She loose only one husband because bad look - Renly. She wanted to get rid of Joffrey and get his part of power with his death. She want love of folk because it's beneficial to her and presonaly I think she... Would never like folk or feel attached to them or try to be friend with someone lowbased (if there is no gain to her). If Taena were telling the truth, Margaery cheats the folk by giving them gold which is worth half less and telling them it was the dragons. She may be pleased if she hear folk standing for her while she was in cell, but I don't think she loves folk unless it is beneficial to her.

I will choose Arianne or Dany because they have a clue, there are independet as persons, have experience or education and because they are noble they will be accepted as queens. Sansa is not independet as persons (I think she is OK character), Asha is just power grabing and while her father is lord, she is not noble, she is too wild for a queen, Cersei doesn't have a clue or is stable, Jeyne would be more happy as someones wife or passive observer and Myrcella is too young.

Of these two (Arianne and Dany) I will chose Arianne. They both have bad experience, but Arianne doesn't need to be scared she will gone mad, she is fertile (possibly no civil war after she died), is not insecure teen and have good, good education.

I don't think the Tyrells would have wanted Joffrey dead if Sansa hadn't told them how cruel he was. There's nothing immoral about not wanting to put up with that. I'm not saying that means Margaery is a saint, just that any part she had in Joffrey's death is pretty well justified.

I think Margaery would be a fine queen, or Myrcella. Even though they are young, they have likely been schooled on a queen's duties, as the parents of both had grand plans for their daughters/grandchildren.

Sansa could be a queen, but only with a lot of help, I think. If I remember correctly, she has "no head for figures." I'm pretty sure a queen uses math even more often than the lady of a household, since the queen is like the lady of a HUGE household. Of course, now that she's had a heaping spoonful of reality, Sansa might suddenly decide it's worth it to put a little more work into her management skills. She is learning to play the game of thrones, after all.

I not calling her actions unjustable, just sheming. If she didn't want to become a Joffrey's wife she could bail. I know this would piss Joffrey, but I think it would be much better than killing him while pretending to love him. There was a way out. Stop the wedding. Joffrey could not hurt Margaery if she isn't in his dominace. But her family want her to be a queen and she was willing to do some sheiming. By killing her husbund in such a horrible way.

Joffrey would be killed by angry mob or he would destroy himself very quicky. There is also a possibilty, while his body and mind being led by untammed puberty, that nobles would come to mind than his is to crazy to be a king that they would do a brute-force attack.

Sansa do not made any move forward in Fest. The readers think she is becoming smarter becasue Littlefinger was doing a smart speech. Everything else, is being the houskeeper (she is trained to be hausekeeper) and kissing Sweetrobin's butt.

Hm.  I like this, but perhaps with a little twist:

Let's make it a constitutional monarchy and give Dany her "birthright" of being the queen, only to let her know that, sad to say, she has zero actual power.  :D
