House Dayne words?

Rise and Shine!

Depending on the time of day, the Daynes have been known to add 'Wakey-wakey' to their words.

That actually works in several ways.  And it would explain why The George wasn't entirely happy with them and might change them at some point.

So it's not just my Dad who said "wakey, wakey" then.

Up and at 'em.

Roll it out (always hated that one).

You've Got to Get Up and Boogie

I remember all of those from childhood.  And a couple others that are really too long for house words.

From Dawn Til Dusk

Ain't no Other man

Of the night.

It's a reference to their incredible luck through the millenia, all the way back to when some of the primitive first men fisher-folk started travelling further and further across the Narrow Sea and eventually ended up staying on the far side.  The first Dayne was a great fisherman who was said to have amazing luck, nothing bad ever happened to him.  When you think there might be some negative conseqiuence to prove his luck wrong, it would end up turning to his favor, like a meteorite hitting his hut and being forged into a legendary weapon.  But this goes back to before Dawn.  The first Dayne was out in his houseboat working his nets and trot lines, and was regretting not bringing his shrimp traps because he could see them migrating through the clear water.  As he stared and thought about how much more appreciated those giant crustaceans would be compared to the same old cod he usually brought back to the village, he saw a storm blow up on his boat.

He struggled to get the primitive hatches and flaps he had protecting the interior of his boat down quickly, because his wife was inside the boat and in the late stages of pregnancy and he was doing everything he could to keep her from being stressed out.  A great unnatural wave rose from the water like the cupped hand of a titan made of water, and lifted hundreds of pounds of the tasty crustaceans he had been wishing he could catch earlier and dropped them on the deck of his boat.  At first he felt blessed and a great relief, because he had been worrying about being able to provide for his new baby but his boat had so much high quality seafood he was sure he'd make more from this haul than from all the other fishing trips he had made in the last year.

But then he remembered his wife, and he got below deck as fast as he could, considering he was hip-deep in flipping, pinching, and crawlling live sea food.  When he got to her, she seemed to be in an island of normalcy surrounded by sea food, and she was holding a beautiful baby boy.  He ran to her and he asked if she was alright, and she replied, in the quirky accent they spoke on the islands far to the west where they worship squid instead of eating them, "S'ol right.  Prawn miss me bed."

Daydream Believer

You Light up My Life

You are my Sunshine

Starlight

The obvious, based on their sigil: "My Sword is Better than Your Sword"

It sounds much more dignified in old Valyrian--or whatever the Daynes originally spoke. . . .

How are none of you coming up with "Good Day Sunshine", "Good Morning Good Morning" or "Here Comes the Sun?" Philistines.

While I'm at it:

"You are the Sunshine of My Life"

"House of the Rising Sun"

"Walking on Sunshine"

"Woke up this Morning"

and my crackpot-theory, "Keepers of the Morning" (y'know, because of the dragon)

"Sunshine SuperMan"
"Sundown"
"Oh What a Beautiful Morning"
"Good Morning Baltimore"

If you're going to be that way about it...

Ain't Goin' Down til the Sun Comes Up

Ain't No Sunshine

All for the Love of Sunshine

Let the Sunshine In

Away From The Sun

Blister in the Sun

Brighter than Sunshine

Children of the Sun

Cold Day in the Sun

Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me

It's a Sunshine Day (for all you Brady Bunch fans)

Keep Your Sunny Side Up

Midnight Girl in a Sunset Town

A Place in the Sun

Seasons in the Sun

Soak up the Sun

Steal My Sunshine

The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine

Sunburn

Sunflower

Sunrise Serenade

Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows

Sunshine Girl

Sunshine in the Shade

Sunshine of your Love

Sunshine Superman (fits well with the Dayne LH idea)

Third Rock from the Sun (doesn't remotely work but it's an awesome song!)

Turn Up the Sun

Waiting for the Sun

Walkin' on the Sun (another awesome song that doesn't work)

We'll Sing in the Sunshine

When the Sun Goes Down

Who Loves the Sun

Delta Dawn  (Delta Dawn, what's that flower you got on?  Could it be a winter rose from days gone by?) yes, I changed the lyrics

Slow Red Dawn

Break of Dawn

The Dawn of Dying

From Dusk til Dawn

Cold Grey Light of Dawn (I actually really like this for house words)

Dawn of a New Day

Lady of the Dawn

A New Dawn

Misery's Dawn

Dawnspell

Dawn Patrol

Hold Back the Dawn

Without the Followin' Dawn

Dawn Can't Decide

At the Crack of Dawn

Stay With Me til Dawn

Dawn of the Angry

Whispers in the Dawn

Dawn Storm

Maybe it's Dawn

Minstrel of the Dawn

Before the Dawn

Gone by Dawn

Dawn is a Feeling

Angel of the Morning

Better in the Morning

Don't Say Goodnight, Say Good Morning

Early in the Morning

In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning

Like the Morning Dew

Morning Bell

Morning Falling

Morning Has Broken

The Morning Light

Then the Morning Comes (love that one!)

When I Take my Morning Promenade

Woke up this Morning

A Hard Day's Night

Die Another Day

One Fine Day

Day By Day

If Today were your Last Day

The Day that Never Comes

Day-oh (the banana boat song)

Oh, Happy Day

King for a Day

Monday, Monday (sorry, couldn't resist)

I Love a Rainy Night

Lonesome as the Night is Long

Long Lonely Night

Sad Days, Lonely Nights

Those Long Lonely Nights

Ain't Even Done with the Night

All-Night Rambler

All Through the Night

At the Center of the Night

Big Night at My House

Boys Night Out

By the Time this Night is Over

Cold and Windy Night

Crying in the Night

Dancing the Night Away

Daydreams About Night Things

Daytime Friends and Nighttime Lovers (for NK and his queen)

Oh, What a Night!

Endless Night

Every Night is a Lifetime

Faster than the Speed of Night

Fly by Night

Girls Night Out

Give Me the Night

Heart of the Night

Help Me Make it Through the Night

Here Comes the Night

Hold Back the Night

If it Takes All Night

In the Shadows of the Night

Is the Night Too Cold for Dancin'?

It's a Grand Night for Singing

Long Day's Journey into Night

Long Winter Nights

Lost in the Night

Lower Left-hand Corner of the Night (no, I did not make that up!)

Me Against the Night

Night Fever

Night Games

Night Life

Night Moves

Night People

Night Shift

Night Time is the Right Time

Nights, Winters, Years

One Endless Night

One Night at a Time

Overnight Success

Put the Night Away

Somewhere in the Night

Somewhere Other Than the Night

Strangers in the Night

There's a Fire in the Night

They Only Come Out at Night

Twistin' the Night Away

Whatever Gets You Through the Night

Who Needs the Night?

The Wind and the Cold, Black Night

So, translation: The Daynes are not only one of the oldest families in Westeros. They are also the most pretentious?

How are none of you coming up with "Good Day Sunshine", "Good Morning Good Morning" or "Here Comes the Sun?" Philistines.

Philistines? Ha! You didn't even think of the hidden "day" in "Zip-A-De-Doo-Da."

Which is, of course, ancient Valyrian for "We're Better Than You!"

Philistines! Humph! I scoff in your general direction! (spoken with a poor and pretentious French accent)

Damn! I was trying to think up a good one for that. Although, why not "Daylight come, and me wanna go home?"

Oy! Careful there, CodeNym. This bird's got a bunny and she knows how to use it!

Peace offering to get back on track:

Mama Said There'd be Days Like This (impending long night)

Morning Glory (hyping the Sword of the Morning)

Does anyone know the words of house Dayne? I dont think they have come up and a google search doesnt show much information apart from an obscure link that cites their words as "Fallen and Reborn"? anyone know this to be true?

They are  "We bring the dawn, we bring da' funk."

It is known.

No, no.  The most indecisive.  In ten thousand years they've finally narrowed it down to the list I posted. ;)

Waiting for Azor.
