LOL I was playing as a lunatic character now and after beating an enemy in a war and capturing him, I was given the event to cut of his manhood and feed it to the goats, and I was forced to do it :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

A new version has been released, it's compatible with 1.07b and it has Aegon's conquest and the reign of Aerys I. as new starting dates.

Well, as King of the Rock, I just defeated Aegon. Not through conventional means, that would be borderline impossible. I had a Faceless man kill him when he was conquering the Iron Islands. His son Aenys controls the Riverlands, but not for long, because everyone hates the Targaryens, because they are infidels, and he is a child and has the short reign negative opinion modifier. Just dodged a bullet.

I love these new scenarios. Only thing I didn't like that much is the new faction system. It makes it almost impossible to be a king if you have an influential vassal. I like the concept, but right now it leaves the realm in non-stop war for centuries. I hope in the next version they somehow make it harder to cause total wars.

I'm playing as Robb Stark in the ACoK scenario, I don't know if I should marry Arianne Martell for my son to inherit both North and Dorne (and even Riverlands if my plot to kill Edmure succeeds before he has a child), or marry Dany to have a claim on the Iron Throne.

It's amazing when you play this you begin to understand some characters like Roose Bolton, who didn't hesitate to betray his liege lord to have more power, influence and prestige.

Also it's incredibly fun and weird to see the paths of Cersei, Tyrion, Asha and others. In my game Jaime died early so Cersei married Daven Lannister. I laughed so hard. Victarion married Asha. And other stuff like that.

I'm planning to play a huge long multiplayer game on this mod during the Christmas vacation, it will be great.

After taking the Iron Throne and rescuing his bride Lyanna, Robert Baratheon went on to father a total of 7 children, only one of them (the seond youngest) was legitimate.  2 of them were with Stannis' lowborn wife.

Stannis was made the Lord Paramount of the Stormlands after the war and while Robert was fathering bastards with his wife, Renly usurped the title from Stannis not long after he came of age with the support of every Stormland vassal.

Stannis spent the rest of his days in King's Landing without so much as an honorary title to his name and eventually died of depression leaving behind no children.

Robert ended up legitimizing his youngest bastard son, and to the suprise of nobody, there was a succession crisis on his death.

Those crazy Baratheon boys.

I'm loving the Boltons now. I started playing as Rodwell II Bolton in the Seven Kingdoms scenario and managed to usurp the Kingdom of the North from the Starks some 50 years after I started. It was pretty easy, actually, since it was a boy who sat on the throne. I've held the throne for over 250 years, managed to put other Boltons as kings in other kingdoms through marriage, but they all lost their throne eventually. The Gardeners, though, they put one of their in the Stormlands and in Dorne as well as in the Reach.

In most kingdoms the dynasties were always changing. The Lannisters, the Hoares, the Greyjoys (after taking from the Hoares, losing it to the Goodbrothers), the Durrendon, they all lost their thrones. The Boltons and the Gardeners were the only ones who kept their thrones, although the Reach belonged to a lesser family during a few decades, but the Gardeners took it back.

I lost the throne once, but to my own dynasty, to another Bolton. My asshole hand of the king told me all my six children were bastards and spread the word about them. Then, once my heir, a suspected bastard, inherited the throne, someone started a war to put some cousin of mine in the throne, with the support of most northern lord. I lost, but at least I kept the Dreadfort. I tried to take it back twice, but I failed. The first character who tried ended up on the Wall, but the second one won a trial by combat and was forgiven.

A few years later, I ordered a faceless man to kill the king, as his heir was only a baby. I had inherited the Rills through marriage so I was in better position then, so I took advantage and declared war for the throne for the third time and won. After 68 years without the throne I took it back.

But now my reign is a mess. There were several rebelions and a lot of regions were independent now. The Gardeners almost put a bastard of their in the throne of the North (it was I who stopped then, even when I despised the king). The previous kings were pretty weak, so they left me with a broken kingdom. My first character after the reconquest was killed by a faceless man, and now my heir, who is not only a child, but also a suspected bastard, inherited the throne, and pretty much everyone rebelled. The Gardeners once again tried to put that bastard of theirs in my throne, but thank the Old Gods for mercenaries. Good thing I was rich, so in the end I won all those wars while still a child. That's where I've stopped playing yesterday. Now I have to reunite the kingdom of the North and defend against the Iron Throne, that has just been created by the Gardeners, who will eventually attack again to annex my kingdom to the Iron Throne.

Cersei got her wish. As Daeron III, who was son of Daemerys (murdered at 28 by the Dornish scum), Tyrions son (Lord of Casterly Rock, Tyrion having been disinherited) perished at the hand of Cersei, and I proceeded to assassinate the "little lion", only daughter of Tyrion and the Lady Shae.

Cersei had a daughter by Lancel, Joanna, and Daeron was struck by her beauty. They had eight children, Deagons with hair of gold and eyes of dragon lords. Although Cersei never had Rhaegar, her daughter had his nephew.

Tyrion lives on, surviving Daeron, Cersei and even little Queen Joanna. Daeron IV had a bastard with his older sister, the bastard child of Tywins daughter by Jeyne Weaterlimg. Martyn's claim has been taken up by Tyrion however, against that of his true born brother Daeron (great grandson of Daenerys). And both have dragons.

I've been playing Paradox Games for years, including the first CK, but I didn't buy CKII when it came out and wasn't about to change my mind, until I discovered there was an ASOIAF mod for the game. I bought the game and after reading this thread, I'm definitely playing this mod as soon as I get home.

I'd probably buy this game just for the Mod, but I've never played any of the Crusader Kings (or the other games, Cross of Iron is it?). Are they hard to get into? I've heard theres a bit of a learning curve compared to the Total War series.

The learning curve is much much higher then in any other game not developed by PI, but it's worth the time in the end because you can do like 83492743497 more things compared with a total war game :) I wouldn't realy call it a game but a political sandbox simulation of medieval politics.

depends on the starting date, i would start as someone small and far away from the fighting, so starting as the rosbys or darrys in roberts rebellion for example might be a bad decision :P The corbrays are a good first time choice, they have a valyrian steel sword :)

Ended up starting as a "designed Ruler" that was head of Oldtown. Married Margaery Tyrell (whom was later put forward on a claim for the Reach), my heir ended up marrying Princess Rhaella Targaryen. Was on very good relations with the Martells & Tyrells until a King Aemon Targaryen ended up claiming just about every Lord-Paramount position for himself, faced widespread rebellion (my then son was on the Kingsguard, led one of my armies regardless) & made different families the Lord Paramounts. Got very messy after that. I ended up naming the 4 Lord of my family Tywin and try make him as close to his namesake as possible, he was tutored (& squired) under the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, married the daughter of the Lord Paramount of the Vale, proceeded to claim The Arbor as his own and after putting down a rebellion by Lord Cuy claiming his land too. Very nearly became Lord of the Reach during a civil war in the Reach, but the King got in my way again. In hindsight I should have pushed regardless of the threats of treason and asked for peace if the King declared war on me.
