I see what you are saying, Lykos. I can't explain, but there's something that just feels off regarding her Hardhome vision. I'm not sure I can explain. When I said she could be seeing Hardhome 600 years ago I wasn't thinking about the moment where all hell broke lose there, but the aftermath.

And yes, I remember that post from hotweaselsoup, it's excellent as all her posts always are. The mixed radio signal is especially interesting.
:)

kissdbyfire, I think it´s possible that Melisandre is shown, in the example of Hardhome, how the wights are a result of a catastrophy caused by fire (maybe humans using magic or dragons, maybe plain simple war).
This could of course be an attempt by Bloodraven to make her understand that her attempts to fight  vanquish death and bring the endless summer are condemned to result in a harsh backlash by winter.

I´m in the process of forming an idea regarding this, which would fit nicely in Teal´C´s thread "avoiding wight formation", but there are a lot of things that don´t seem to be part of Martin´s story connected to this idea, so not sure where it will go. :P

Interesting take, Lykos. I hadn't considered that - or not precisely that - but it makes sense. There are quite a few things that can possibly make sense. I've been thinking a lot about Ice and Fire lately. :uhoh:

I think in the end, GRRM is just proving her to be (like many-it not all- other characters) human. she makes mistakes, she takes stupid leaps of faith in her beliefs, she gets blind sited by her own wants and emotions, she is both deceived, (by herself and others) and a decevier. i quite agree with everyone else when they say that she must be purposefully misinforming people and perhaps not informing people of the things she sees which may counter act things she has earlier stated. she openly states that the visions are never wrong, just the interpretations of said visions, but she doesnt seem as willing to admit when it is she who makes so many misinterpretations, she is guilty of pride, it is known. but a lots of people dont seem to like Mel, and like to see deamons in her actions. i was quite happy when her chapter came out, and people were able to see her is a slightly different light, but i understand she still doesnt have quite the large fan base i feel she is worth. but thats MO

I don't agree that she's a "con artist".  I think she 100% believes the interpretations of what she sees in the fire and where it's lead her.  However, she is obviously flawed in her skills and her readings.
