How did Tywin react to the news that Arya is missing when he comes to King´s Landing in the books? Can´t really remember that or even if it happened.
There was non because he believed she was dead, but in this case he met a highborn girl who looks like Arya, because she was it

And Tyrion was unconcious for quite a bit of time following Blackwater so his initial reaction couldn't have been depicted.

"at his doorstep" is likely referring to robb's proximity to casterly rock

It's telling that Tywin spoke to Arya about the importance of family and legacy but never mentioned Tyrion, just Cersei and Jaime. But I agree that deep down he knows Tyrion and he are more alike that the twincest twosome.

His sister Gemma (think that's her name?)  comments on this to Jaime later on. Be so ironic if C/J were a certain someone's spawn. Don't believe this particular theory - but who knows...

I'm looking forward to seeing Tywin's reaction when he finds out Arya is not in King's Landing.  Book Tywin would NEVER admit that he screwed up though.  He's not about to allow any blame, doubt or ridicule of his abilities to get around.

Considering Tywin apparently has Littlefinger's transporter, I'm surprised he doesn't return to Harrenhal.  He took all of two days to reach King's Landing with his party!

There is another possibility here. Cersei may find a young girl who pretends to be Arya Stark for her.  Tywin may never in fact know the real Arya is missing.

Tywin mentioned Robb is at Ashemark according to his latest reports.  That is "on his doorstep" in relation to Casterly Rock, for sure.

That is ridiculous. Why would he not do anything if he knew? Anyway I seem to remember him saying "THE young wolf" which obviously implies Robb. In fact it doesn't even imply, it just plain is. Why would a little subtle nod to knowing about Arya have any relevance in a conversation about whether to march to Kings Landing or not. The dilemma was having 2 foes to worry about. If Robb wasn't a worry then they'd already have been off to Kings Landing. The whole scene was to make you think he was marching on Robb, not Stannis. And certainly not to let viewers speculate that he knows about Arya.

As soon as the news that Jaime has escaped reach King's Landing, Sansa and Arya's value as hostages will drop, and more important political issues get a priority. Sansa's only value becomes what legitimacy she can bring to whoever the Lannisters choose to support as a warden in the North, and as a younger daughter, Arya has even less value.

Yeah, I don't even know how there is any argument here. Robb is nicknamed "The Young Wolf."

This is like Joffrey mentioning "his dog" and someone wondering if he meant Gregor... use you context clues people.

for me this issue is a huge plot hole created by the season's changes.  If Tywin finds out arya is not at KL, his reation should be "She is at Harrenhall, bring her immediately to KL"  whereby he will find out she escaped Harrenhall.  This would naturally result in Tywin ordering a bunch of heads removed.  If it is never discussed it will look queer.  I suspect it wont be discussed

My expectation is that Tywin will ask to see the Stark girls and Cersei will have to confess Arya is missing. You'll see a glimmer of recognition flash across Charles Dance's face but he won't say a word (Tywin would never admit even an error not of his own making). He might pay an angry visit to the maester and send a raven to Harrenhall telling Gregor to detain the (unnamed) northern cup bearer. Tywin will be told she can't be found. That will be the last we hear of it. It's information that Tywin does not need to share and therefore will not and it will be a small victory for a Stark over the most powerful of the Lannisters.

Saying that, if Kevan also has similar thoughts then we might see it discussed between him and Tywin. I expect that will be a short conversation...

I would love to see Tywin's reaction to some how realizing that was Arya (there's no way he knew) and seeing his reaction to Joffrey as well. I'm sure it won't take long for him to realize his cupbearer would have been a more compentent king than his grandson....

I think he'll see littlefinger and quietly enquire whether he'd met Ned's daughters, when LF says he has Tywin will give him the stare of death then move on and demonstrate to Joff & Cersei whos actually in charge. Don't think we'll see this till next year though. I can't see them visiting KL or Stannis next episode especially with Tyrions fate in the ballance. It'll be Winterfell and Dany heavy with probably a look at Robb as they love him.

Young Wolf = Robb Stark

And Arya was inside harrenhal not at the doorstep

Let the condescending lecturing and bitch slapping begin!

Absolutely this. I am eagerly anticipating a verbal smackdown from Tywin. ;)

I imagine that there very well might be a small council meeting in the season premiere. If word of Jaime's escape has not yet reached King's Landing, then surely the subject of how to get him back will come up...at which point, someone - preferably Cersei - will have to tell Tywin that they "misplaced" one of their bargaining chips. After that, I don't think it'll take him too long to put two and two together.

Of course, it's entirely possible that this simply won't come up, but I had hoped for some closure to that particular storyline. I would also love to see the look on Charles Dance's face when/if he figures it out. :drunk:

Tywin would never have left her at Harrenhal if he'd known who she was - especially in the care of Gregor Clegane!!!!!!!
