The lovely South-African said she'd be totally ready for GoT if they asked him.

I'd love to see here in the show.

She can be a terrific Val: she can be icy, cold, distant, but also sensual and fierce.

Any thoughts ?

Yeah, here it is:  http://screenrant.co...w-rothc-175696/

She is so stunningly gorgeous, and a great actress. What a dream would it be to have her in GoT!

I don't know. I think she'd cost too much and her very presence might give out the wrong expectations for whatever character she played. She's a bit too visible imo, you look at her in the medieval context and would immediately think: "Charlize Theron". Not to mention that I think her agents would throw a fit. Isn't TV still considered slumming it?

While I don't doubt she loves the show and would work on it if she really wanted to, there simply is no role big enough for her to appear in. Eddard Stark was a large enough role for Sean Bean, as is Tyrion for Peter Dinklage and Cersei for Lena Headey... Unfortunately, there are no more roles like that to give out to a massive name like Theron, who would immediately grace her way to top-three billing on any show she is in.

Just watched her new movie, Snow White and the Huntsman, yesterday. She would have been a terrific Cersei. There are many feminist tones (women as objects, prizes of power, whose main asset is beauty) in that movie and she nailed the role of the evil queen. And in the movie, she's very close to her brother (who has a platinum blonde bob).

She'd make a great Tormund Giantsbane.

On one hand, she would bring sizable star power.

On the other hand, I can't think of any role that would be both big enough for a name of her calibre and fitting her. Too caucasian for any the Dornishwomen, too famous for Val.

Charlize Theron is great, but realistically, I don't see her ever appearing on the show. She's way too big of a name and will continue to stay in movies, plus there's no part big enough for her. I could only see her coming on teh show as some sort of cameo, but I have no idea what role that would be unless they invented one.

That she is. And if she got a role on the show, the make up department would have to tone it down. Do you recollect any characters supposedly more beautiful than Cersei, Margaery and Daenerys?

No, it isnt, hasn't been for a few years now. Charlize herself appeared on "Arrested Development" as Mr. F for a few episodes. And that was when she had her Oscar already.
But it might be too expensive.

Forgive me Lena Headey fans, but I would have loved to have seen Charlize Theron as Cersei...

She would have made a great Cersei, yeah. But the risks with bringing her in the show now would be that 1) she would get a small, not so significant role and 2) they would have to make that role bigger and more significant, thus changing the story dramatically and all that just because she's a big name? Me no want :/

Other than Cersei I see no role for Ms. Theron, she's just too beautiful, too big a name, and just too popular for a TV series.

Not that I ever see her on GoT but she hasn't had a problem toning down her beauty for a role before.

If people aren't familiar with this, left to right. The woman she portrayed, her made up for the role and of course her own shining self.

Way too expensive. Just like Maggie Smith, Cillian Murphy and all those other big names that keep cropping up.

if she would play anyone, i could only really see her as Val. And Val will probably get little screen time if any.  She could always have a cameo appearance as one of Littlefinger's prostitutes.

I love her, and i think she is stunning; but no. She would be very very pricey, plus i really dislike Val, and if Charlize played Val...then i would liking her :(

Looking at her Monster photo, she could've made a good Brienne as well. Christie is perfect though. Obviously she would've made a great Cersei but maybe she is a little too "cold" and icy and Cerise isn't really that.

She isn't really afraid to take on less "prestigious" roles.. I mean, her part in Arrested Development was pretty much the opposite of an award winning role but she was great in it and it didn't prevent her from getting other big parts after that.
She would probably be way too expensive, but she sounds like the type of actress who would take a pay cut if that's the only thing preventing her from being on the show.
