Pebble, I'm really sorry to hear this but at least you and Mr G. weren't hurt. Hope you can get your car back and maybe the value of your valuables. As for the feeling of violation, I know it's going to be hard to get rid of it. :grouphug:  Burglaries -esp. ones resulting in violence- are on the rise here, it's something I've started fearing.

This will make a funny story sometime in the future, Zabz is right as always.

Pebble, sorry to hear about the burglary. Not only is it a pain in the ass to get new cards, id and change the locks, but the feeling of violation is one of the worst things.

Having said that, and I mean this in the nicest of ways, but you have the craziest shit happen to you and I never tire of reading about it. Thank you for yet another entertaining tale.

And why the fuck did the neighbor call the police on your nakedness rather then ask you if you needed a robe?

Hells, I thought this was a revival of LoB's thread and was wondering if I missed an anniversary for it.
This sucks, Pebbles - it sounds a lot like a nightmare I had once, only there was less bravery on my part and more yelling.

It's terrible that it happened, but good that they didn't get away with much.
You'll probably have nightmares and pop awake if a mouse farts for a few months from the trauma though.

Long story.

Growing up, my Mom was into the drug culture (mostly Pot and Meth).  I was just back from my failed attempt at college and staying at her house when she got arrested for various drug charges.  Luckily for her she as sent to treatment instead of prison.

Anyways one day I come home to find the door bashed in.  I find all my CD's gone, some of my VHS movies gone, a hunting knife gone, and all my diabetic syringes gone (I'm type one).

After I call the police I notice a piece of paper on the front steps.  When the cops get there we find out it's a Doctors Prescription note to a teenager that I'm aware is in the drug circle (I'm in a very small town with an active gossip grapevine.)

The Police say that's not proof that the kid was involved, but will "Talk to him".

Fast forward a few months.  I've found out through the grapevine that yes the kid was involved, but only slightly and that another person was the main instigator.  This other kids Mom was a friend of my Mom, so we knew each other in passing. Police don't care to look into it.  Person I know was involved gets arrested for pulling a knife on somebody....

.... my knife.  Police ask me to identify it.  I do.  They say that's not proof he broke into the house, he could of got the knife from whoever did it.  I facepalm at the cops.

Driving to work a few weeks later there's a report on the radio of somebody breaking out of jail.  It's the guy who broke into my house.  I head back home on a lark.  Everything looks ok.  Head back to work.  Before getting to work, a cop car pulls me over.  They say my front door is wide open and my house was trashed.

We head back to my house and indeed that is the case.  He broke into the house just after I drove by.  He stole some boots and clothes and called his Cousin for a ride.

He's found in the trunk of his Cousins car, she claims she didn't know he was in there.

And here's the best part.

A month later I'm at the Library (across the street from the Jail) and get a phone call.  It's him.  He wants me to buy him some cigarettes and sneak them into Jail.

Oh Pebble I'm so sorry to hear you and your hubby (well, mostly you since he slept through it all) went through all this! :-(

Not much to say about the thieves other than 'low life scum', really.  But what's the deal with your neighbour? What a c**t! Pardon my French, but really... Instead of running out with a robe and asking 'what can I do to help', they call the coppers?

As others have said, the really important thing is you guys are safe. :grouphug:

LoB,

You've been topped.

Is it bad that I had this thought first?

This thought I did not have - but it is certainly "the bright side" of this picture.

I hope posting on this board helps this become funny to you sooner rather than later.

Ah, it was a lovely story involving a naked Pebble, a camera, her Boss, a dog and a convenient bush.

See pebble, something else to the bright side - at least there were no dogs around this time (or Bosses).

I can't believe you did that, you are extremely brave to chase a man out of the house, let alone stark-bollock naked. Very brave! So glad they didn't hurt you at least. Do you have individual insurance for your laptop and stuff?

And your neighbour is a shit, calling the police instead of coming out to help. What did they think you were doing? Some people *shakes head*
