Like? No, I don't like him as a person at all. But, I do love his character and have found his chapters to be a fascinating read. After Dance, I also feel very sorry for him.

I am not a forgiving person. I still hate Jaime and Theon. Theon is my second most hated character (Dany being first). Unlike many people here, I don't pity him. Not even a smallest bit. I hate Dany more, but I would be kinder if I get to kill her. I hate Ramsay as well, but I believe that Ramsay was far too kind for Theon. If I got my hands on Theon, I would have flayed him much more. I would make him die of the pain of excessive flaying. I would also put a fork in his eye, just to hurt him.
Theon is very well-written, but I hate him for himself.
Dany is not a bit well-written (compared to other major POVs in the series), and her story is boring that's why I hate her, only a little for herself.

His character is amazing. Would I want him as a friend? No :P I love reading him though. I felt so sorry for him in the last few books, even after he betrayed Robb. One of the saddest stories in the novels I think.

So are you saying that you are not a fan of Theon? I can't quite tell. ;)

Theon is an interesting character; and his arc in ADWD makes the book's huge size and price bearable; but as a person, no, I definitely don't like him.  I feel sorry for him; he deserves a quick death or a life in exile at the Wall (which, physically, I don't think he could manage anymore).

Theon is one of my favourite characters. His arc in ADwD was very well written and possibly the best arc in ASOIAF as of today. Theon is a complex character; I know most people believe that in his position they would side with Robb. However, Theon had gone to the Iron Islands and was treated like a nobody. His own family! For someone who has always been told he is not a Stark, to suddenly be told you are not a Greyjoy would cause a huge crisis in identity. He was forced to choose, and of course he chose wrongly. What Ramsay did to him was unspeakable and it really deconstructed his identity. His statement in ADwD where he states that he should have died at the Twins with Robb was truly tragic. I don't know what Stannis or Bran have in store for Theon, but I hope his arc of redemption can continue. I don't think he will survive the series, but if he gets to serve justice to Ramsay I'll be happy.

Love him as a character. His chapters in Dance are some of my favorite in the series. As a person, though...honestly I have too much pity for him to say I don't like him. I guess I'm more neutral.

@kittykatknits: I'm saying that GRRM wrote him very well, but I hate him for what he did. Imagine there is a person you hate, and somebody tells you a story about it, and he tells it very well. Then you will like the story but that doesn't mean you will like the person that the story is about it. So yes, I'm not a fan of Theon. I'm a fan of Arya and Dolorous Edd.
Someone said it well: like to read about him..... Like him? No!

I've been intrigued by Theon's character since AGOT.  His identity issues are just so fascinating to explore.  I also think he has some of the best written POV's of the series.  I get very excited when I come across one of his chapters.  As a literary character, yes, I like Theon very much.

I'm the type to befriend broken people and take in stray folks and I've taken in a Theon-esque person on a few occasions.  So I'd probably end up liking Theon in real life as well.

I find him fascinating, and hope he makes it to the end of the series simply because his arc is fantastic. (Or has an amazing death - right tale of redemption).

With GRRM, you never know though.

I love Theon.  All he did was kill a couple of miller's boys.  Who hasn't?  We all put our pants on one leg at a time.  And the Reek shit, okay, for awhile it was like, Theon, pull up your nonexistant balls and get yourself together, and stand up to this guy.  Whether you consider yourself Ironborn or a pseudo-Stark, Ned Stark and Victarion Greyjoy both would have said "fuck you Ramsay" kill me you sick fuck.  The guy has been through a lot and all of his terrible decisions are totally relatable.  So yeah, I like Theon.  I KNOW Theon.  And I really hope that Stannis find is in him to make him take the Black instead of just lopping off his head.

I liked him even at the end of A Clash of Kings.  He, Jaime, and the Hound all might as well be written specifically for me, they are so exactly what I want in a character.  They also serve as good counterpoints to each other - sort of interesting variations on a theme, in my opinion.

I think you just named my three favorite characters too...

I don't like him, but I understand him.  He catches a lot of flack for his "betrayal" of the Starks, but I never see anyone giving serious consideration to the fact that he was only with the Starks at all because he was kidnapped as a small boy to be used as a hostage, with the possibility always there that he could be executed killed murdered for the actions of his father.

In short, the assumption that accompanies the notion that he "betrayed" the Starks is that he ever owed the Starks any kind of loyalty whatsoever to begin with.  I'm not sold on that assumption.

Yes.  I like Theon quite a lot in his recent chapters.  Whatever else he may have done, the courage he showed in rescuing Jeyne was undeniable.

I like the Theon character, but if he were a real person I wouldn't like him. I do pity him after ADWD. He should have made for the Wall.

I like him. I hated him after what he did but now after what he's been through I forgive him. And I don't think he did what he did because he's evil, he was trying to prove something to his family and himself and he obviously didn't do it in a good way but he didn't just want to destroy the Starks because he hated them or anything.

However, if he keeps rhyming things with Reek I might start to hate him again.
