The legend we know from the mummy and Spartacus, don't you think John Hannah would be perfect for Edmure? He fits that role extremely well and the characters he had in both of those were like Edmures. Just go e him a small beard and there we go. Oh and redden his hair too.

I think he is way too old for Edmure.

I don't think you noticed but they've kind of aged everyone up.

on the character description released of the confirmed characters it mentions him as "A brash young member of the Tully family"
http://insidetv.ew.c...season-3-cast/?

i would pick David Oakes from the Borgias, but maybe he is a bit too young

So? He'll obviously appear younger than Cat. Especially if they put make up on.

All his major roles are the outline of what kind of person Edmure is and I think John Hannah will be that Sean Bean type of role and bring more people to the show.

No sorry, don't see John Hannah as Edmure at all, as has been said, he's far too old and while it's easy to make someone look older, it's certainly not easy to do the reverse.

It doesn't matter is he's older if he can portray the character well enough. He's certainly younger than Catelyn which is all that is needed.

John Hannah is older than Michelle Fairley so no, it wouldn't be easy for him to portray her younger brother and using make up to make someone look younger is a lot harder than using aging make up.

Does it matter? He can definitely seem younger.

Well, yes I think it does matter otherwise I wouldn't have said I disagreed with him as Edmure. I don't think he looks younger than Michelle Fairley so it would be difficult to make him appear to be her younger brother.

For Edmure, they need someone who looks at least 10 years younger than Michelle Fairley, I reckon. I don't feel that John Hannah fits the bill. He's a brilliant actor who I'd love to see on the show, but he doesn't fit the description of brash and young at all, to be honest. I'd vastly prefer Nina Gold to pick someone who's actually young, rather than have them splash makeup on someone who's two or three years older than the actor playing his elder sister.

David Wenham would be great! My personal choice for the role though is Tom Goodman-Hill

Woo, thanks for the likes :P

David Oakes would be awesome! Yes, I know they have aged people up, but Edmure Tully is young (and HBO describes him as such). But then again, not sure if Oakes would want to get typecast for medieval roles after Pillars of the Earth and Borgias.

As said above, John Hannah is probably too old for Edmure, but he could play Thoros...
