I mean, seriously, does he have something wrong with him? :)
He meets a character hes just saved and wants on side then slanders his father. He acts as though winning his allies over is a chore. I mean even if its a weakness, why be such a jerk to everyone and weaken your cause?

He resents the very fact that people need to like their lord to not be traitors. The more it's needed of him, the more it pisses him off. He spent his whole life doing what Robert says even though he neither liked or respected him nor benefitted from doing so, he can't stand the fact that nobody else can do the same.

I think he's just naturally crap with people and socially awkward, which coupled with his own stubbon ideals this doesn't make a good mix for dealing with others.  I mean, Asha notes that he seems uncomfortable around her, and she's his bloody captive.

It is because Stannis is a god and can say what hell he wants to say.

Well to be fair, he held Storms end with only 500 during Roberts rebellion despite a long seige that was only possible due to Davos's smuggling food in only to have his "beloved" brother take it off him afterwards and give it to Renly!

Stannis is Roberts rightful heir and he is expecting people to fall in line just like he had to with his elder brother

Stannis is a person who believes in doing the right thing, and doesn't see why everyone else should need to be persuaded to do it.

Maybe he has a social disorder? I mean, in the modern day we would recognize it, but back then they would know nothing.
Who knows? GRRM likes to present real characters with real flaws, Stannis' might be a social disorder in which he cannot connect with others.

Ι think  it has to do with seeing his father sinking when he was young. Then doing the chores for Robert who was probably mean to him. He fought to Roberts wars and his award was Dragonstone when baby Renly got Storms End.
A it was mentioned, he believes in what is right and doesnt want to persuade people and also he expects his subjects to obey because of the law

Likes his rules, struggles with change 'will break before he bends' and has trouble empathising with people...

You don't think Stannis has some minor form of Aspergers?

A learning disability that affects social skills n empathy that roughly equates to what I just mentioned to a greater or lesser extent.

Why did he marry that Florent woman anyway if he didn't like her? He was Lord of Dragonstone, brother to the king... surely he could have chosen someone more to his liking?

People don't like to get called out, it hurts their feelings.

I wish we were privy to small council meetings with Stannis, Renly, Arryn, LF and Varys with Cersei in attendance.  Twould be quality conversation.

Great post. Plus I think he naturally has very few people skills.  Some people just don't.

Maybe he did like her at some point.

Anyway, on topic:

He's very bitter. Ever since they were children his brothers got all the attention, and Stannis always felt like he was left out. The whole Storm's End thing didn't help much either. He held the castle for so long, only to see it given away to his little brother. And when Robert became King he treated him like dirt. He sent him off to Dragonstone, one of the worst places in Westeros.

But I think he can actually have a good conversation with someone. Someone he likes anyway. Like Davos.

Who says he chose her? The marriage was a political one, and its arrangement would have been Robert's responsibility. Robert, being who he was, most likely would have fobbed that off to Jon Arryn.

Nobody likes Stannis, and nobody really believed he would be Robert's heir for very long, so his marriage prospects were limited. Plus, they wanted to secure the alliance with the reach.
