stephen fry definitely.

Well I want Richard Griffiths as Manderly but we definitely need Stephen Fry on the show.

Fry needs to be a Maester, there's no way he'd be a good Manderley.

I reckon Fry would be good as Mace Tyrell in a couple guest appearances.

I can only imagine one person for Wyman - Wilford Brimley. Yes, he's not fat enough but he is a large man who looks geat in a moustache. It's a done deal!

Who do you believe should play Wyman Manderly?
Lord Lard, aka Lord Too-Fat-to-Sit-a-Horse, aka Lord DIABEETUS!

I think Robbie Coltrane would be perfect!

Fantastic shout. He'd command an ample fee, I bet, but would be great for a cameo or two.

McNiece & Griffiths are actually pretty spot on dream-casting. As a plus, McNiece already has a history with Nina Gold AND the show.

Casting for the obesity of Manderly, however, could pigeon-hole Nina Gold and prevent a lot of good actors from reading for the part. I hope she's willing to think of someone else. A lot of fans would complain of course, but I don't think anyone would disavow the show if she cast someone less obese than their mind's eye.

A few actors that I could picture sinking their teeth into the part: Timothy Spall, Brendan Coyle, Dermot Crowley, or John Sessions.

:agree:  My thoughts exactly!

Fry would be perfect for a maester. For Wyman Manderly, I vote Richard Griffiths.

Gleeson is awesome, but I see him more as a fierce wildling.. Griffiths can pull off that weird kinda "old, family highclass gone totally decadent-vibe" I get from Manderly.

I was browsing GoT LCG card list the other day and found this Wyman Manderly card. I guess the artist who drew it is on the Griffiths boat. :D

Richard Griffiths! Who else could it possibly be?

I thought he would have been a great choice as well, but alas he has passed away.  May he rest in peace.

Ian McNeice.

He played Winston Churchill on Dr. Who and Baron Harkonen in Dune (Scifi).  Plus he was supposed to be Illyrio but had to drop the role b/c of scheduling conflicts.  If he can't be The Fat Man in Essos...make him The Fat Man in the North. :)

ETA: Also the fat man from Rome. :)

He was also in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls lol

it just depends on how he would look with a moustache

Yeah I saw. A great shame, he was a really talented guy :(

I don't care who they cast, Griffiths will always be my mental image.
