Who will be King at the end of the series? (time capsule)

I thought it would be cool to have a sort of time capsule with everyone's predictions about the end of the series. Figured it would be neat to come back to this thread 35 years down the road when the series is finished and see what everyone thought.

Sooo ....what do you guys think? Personally I think the Lannister regime will eventually collapse. If I had to bet, I'd bet on Targaryen restoration at the end of the series.

As much as I would love to see Rhaegar and Lyanna's offspring rule the 7 kingdoms, I think Jon will sadly die a hero fighting the White Walkers. That and I've recently come to reject the R+L=J theory.

I would hate to see Dany on the throne, and I don't think she will ever be queen.

I've always thought that Sansa will, at some point or another, be queen. And I hold to that, I would bet that Sansa will be queen at the end of it.

As to the King? After the scene in the HotU where Dany sees Rhaegar, I've held and continue to hold that Aegon VI Targaryen is alive and well. I think he will be King at the end of the whole thing.

My prediction, Aegon and Sansa on the throne

Just curious what makes you doubt the R+L=J theory?

I was reading around some threads and talked to some friends. Right now I'm unwilling to commit myself to any theory as to Jon's parents.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Rhaegar being Jon's father, at this point though I just don't think GRRM will give us that satisfaction.

Also, I read an interview with Alfie Allen, he's the dude that plays Theon:

You know, I asked him about who Jon Snow’s real parents were, and he told me. I can’t say who, but I can tell you that it involves a bit of a Luke Skywalker situation. It will all come to fruition eventually. The whole thing with all the fight over proper succession is partly inspired by the War of the Roses in the late 1400s, and back then, to ensure pedigree, the monarchies were kind of inbred. It’s definitely fucked up, but it definitely happened back then, so that’s why there’s incest with the Targaryen line. It’s toned down, though

I think Jon is a Targaryen, just not by Rhaegar ;)

I thought you had finished AFFC as I thought you were posting there.

Either way, I was just posting in here to make people aware there may potentially be spoilers if a poster who has read all the books is not careful.

Possible that Aerys raped Lyanna (Jon Snow) and Rhaegar stole her away to the Tower of Joy to protect her from Aerys? Interesting. VERY interesting indeed....

The thing is. Wouldnt the blood of the dragon always be the strongest and therefor give the kids silverblonde hair?

Not necessarily. Rhaegar had two children with Elia; Aegon and Rhaenys. Aegon had strictly Targaryen features like Rhaegar, whereas Rhaenys had Martell features like Elia.

It has been well established that Targaryens do not necessarily sire children with stereotypical Targaryen hair and skin colors. In fact, it is hinted that they like to marry in the family in order to keep those colors.

It is said most explicitly in the first Dunk & Egg tale, "The Hedge Knight". There is also the appearance of Bittersteel, one of the Great Bastards.

I say Dany married to Jon Snow and Arya.

Sansa (though I like her), Littlefinger, and all the Lannisters die trying.

Or, yeah, I love the idea of Westeros kicking feudalism and becoming a free society. Major twist!

That would be terrible and If it happens I'm flushing the books down the toilet. To have a whole war about who sits the iron throne to just in the end kick the iron throne? I'd be unbelievably mad.
