It's tonight 7-9 p.m. SOLD OUT. GRRM described it as a "reading and signing"


Anyone going? If so record the reading at least or take scrupulous notes if GRRM doesn't allow you to record it.

And yet we have forums dedicated to two chapters he's read at these events.  I respect his wishes of not wanting the unfinished version of his chapter being released and critiqued before he's finished with it.  But it's an unrealistic favor to ask of his fans.

I wasnt trying to be a dick but any discussion will be on peoples memory not notes taken, and one of the chapters was released on his website for the world to see.

Same. But im very strange with how i have done it... I have listened to Georges Victarion chapter and looked at what the Arianne chapter is about... Yet I still havent brought myself to read the Theon chapter after DwD.

No, you're right and in fact I didn't know you couldn't take notes.  I just hope with these large crowds and advancements in technology we could have some way of hearing more then just the gist of the chapter.

Still haven't gotten any replies or posts of people saying they're going.  I expect a lot of Game of Thrones fans and questions like,

"How did you start the books?"
"Which character are you most like?"
"Are you happy with the show?"

Hah it's so funny how eager we are to devour any new morsel of TWOW we can get our hands on.  When the book actually comes out we're all going to be reading it and this board WILL DIE.

Far as I recall, GRRM has never asked people not to take notes of his readings and/or Q&As. He does ask that it's not recorded, however.

That said, GRRM is almost certainly reading one or both of the excerpts he's already previously read.

So I'll just urge anyone who is attending to take good notes on the Q&A, we'd love to include it in the So Spake Martin collection.

Well I doubt that many of us are in the Seattle area (I'm certainly not), so, might that explain why no one's answered saying that they're going?

ETA: I do hope we get a different chapter with the ADWD papeback, and not any that we've already seen or heard about (so no Theon, Tyrion, Arianne, etc.).
