Both are still alive. Arya has been having the same type of dreams that Bran was having with Summer. So will they reunite? Does Nymeria even remember Arya?

I really hope so. I've read the argument that they are already as close as they can be due to Arya's dreams, but if she's only connecting with her wolf when she's asleep, then that doesn't seem healthy to me, or adequate emotional support.
I want Arya to be able to see Nymeria in the flesh, throw her arms around Nym's furry neck and have a much needed hug. :3

I'm sure about that, Nymeria will play a role when Arya comes back and rediscovers her identity as a Stark

Golly I hope so, I've been waiting for it since book 1 and the lack of closure on that plot loop has been frustrating me ever since.

Definitely, the fact that GRRM has kept them both in the story and still deeply connected convinces me.

We can look at that argument from a 'glass half full' kinda point of view. That no matter how far apart they are, they'll always be connected. :)

And I hope and believe they will be reunited.

I hope not, its too obvious and foreseeable.

Nothing in the story so far went as expected, I hope it stays that way.

Btw. I am probably the only one that hopes that Jon just dies on his wounds and is out of the story. Because that would be a even bigger shock then Ned. To many main characters are coming back from being dead. Too many Gandalfs :)

That's true. I'd hope that their dream connection is always there, but I'd like a physical one too. :)

The only thing that could surprise me more than them not reuniting, is if Jon actually dies and stays dead.

I have a crackpot that Arya will be sent to kill Jeyne Westerling (who I think is pregnant with Robb's child) and that takes her to the Riverlands to bring about the reunion with Nymeria.

An epic scene where she is determined to do it and then Nymeria shows up and she is thrown into a state of confusion and doubt.  I like that idea.

I think she will probably quit the faceless men before she is fully indoctrinated.  Way too much mess to clean up for her to be constantly watching her ass from them unless her fate is to be a constant wanderer.

In Feast for Crows Arya trains to be a full out water dancer so it would be like a huge dire wolf and a super ninja

I think it would be a bit cheesy if they both live but don't reunite. Nymeria I believe would actively seek out Arya at some point and so their reunion is a given, provided they both stay alive and Arya comes back to Westeros.

Knowing Martin though, at some point the soldiers in Westeros will get tired of having patrols set on by that giant pack of wolves, and will organize a large hunting party to wipe out Nymeria and her wolf pack, and Arya will warg witness the whole thing and wake up screaming at the moment that a spear drives through Nymeria and kills her. Arya will be a twisted blood thirsty monster from that point on (more than she is already) and set out on a mission to kill every person on the hunting party, resulting in three more books worth of revenge killings.

There are indications in ASOS that Nymeria was following Arya around. Also apparently the Mootons already tried that and barely got out alive, according to the story Arya hears in an inn while she's travelling with Yoren. That was when Nymeria was half grown.

I kind of think the reunion is narratively inevitable, especially since there's little reason otherwise to keep us updated on Nymeria's progress.

However, a twisted reunion where Nymeria then promptly dies, as suggested, isn't impossible ...

I really hope so, but I doubt they'll ever see each other again except in dreams. If they do meet again, I wouldn't doubt a quick death for one of them. GRRM seems to write in a way that lacks connection and communication between the good guys.

Some examples:

1. Arya showing up just as the RW occurs.
2. Fake Arya is still fake and will remain fake because of what happened to Jon, unless Theon finally decides to tell someone...
3. Sansa could have left with the Hound to possibly reunite with Robb
4. Dany, literally everything single thing about her is a procrastination. She's *still* in Meereen, locked her dragons up, didn't even see Drogon for 3/4 of a book called "Dance with Dragons."
5. No word at all about Benjen.

There are somethings I hate that HBO leaves out of the show, but there are also somethings I hate that GRRM leaves out of the books. I want more action, and less teenage Daario love.

My own crackpot theory is that at some point Arya Stark will die and her frozen body will be found clutching needle.  However Arya will continue to live her "second life" through Nymeria, which is how the giant wolfpack will become a more effective force within the story.

I certainly hope so. GRRM does a lot of things in these books that frustrate me and the unfinished Arya/Nymeria plotline is driving me crazy!
