Hoyt and the hate group was awesome.
Sam was great, as was the werewolf stuff. The Lafayette bits were take it or leave it, and the only thing that sucked was Sookie (big surprise there).

It could not have been more obvious who had let Russell out for a few episodes.
That finale was interesting. How come Eric didn't see Lilith once he saw Godrich?

Agreed, none of that made any sense whatsoever. The vampire storyline in particular has just gone completely haywire. And the Lafayette scenes, wtf.
Hope Hoyt dies soon.

I think I mostly agree with this (although there was some pretty great episodes near the end of season 3). The vampire/Authority stuff has definitely been the most interesting this season (minus the weird religion stuff), so it was great to spend more time on that. Sam's investigation was fun, it was interesting to see/learn more about the masked supe-killers, and I loved the Tara/her Mom/Pam scenes. The scene with Jessica and Jason was good. It'll be fun to see where he goes from here. Loved the wedding video, but still can't make myself care about the fire monster thing.
Sookie and Lafayette were kind of blah, but I did like Sookie's internal struggle about whether she should keep her abilities or become fully human.

Another child in danger, JD was going to give that little werewolf girl V! I can't wait to see Alcide fucking rips him to shreds. I kind of like Martha and I cracked up at her calling Alcide "Rambo". Once again, we are denied an Alcide sex scene. I'm starting to think there is a joke I am not getting....
I honestly skipped Terry's scene, so I don't know what happened there.
I am floving Pam and Tara's developments. I think they are going to be awesome together.
I can't believe I am saying this, but I want more Steve Newlin!

If so, I'm a little bummed. I know that conflict seemed like a carbon copy of the two sides in x-men, but I thought it was pretty intriguing for the first part of this season.
I have to say that while it was very obvious that Roman was going to go down, I did not think Lillith was actually coming back or even real in the first place.
It's an interesting choice for the show because they'd been building up this narrative of "it's just some book" which I suspected was an actual commentary on modern religion, but it turns out the book was legit?

I doubt True Blood can do a good job handling a story about the first vampire - it works better when it focuses on the mystery/small town/local Big Bad elements because the TV worldbuilding (don't know about the books) gets pretty shaky, IMO, when you're led to think about the big picture. I like the theory that the Authority vampires have now deluded themselves into believing that Lilith is real and has blessed their holy cause but we'll discover that they were actually just high on faerie blood or something. Whatever the origin of the Godric ghost/vision, to me it looked like Eric snapped out of the trance they were all in and while Nora still appeared to be looking at "Lilith" there was no longer anyone for Eric/the viewers to see, hinting that she might be fake.

I'm with everyone else on Terry though, I'm just so un interested in his storyline.

Alcide and the wolf-girl was just lame, another stupid excuse for sexual scenes, with no chemistry between the characters. Hoyt's story is purely a recycling of Jason's story in season 2, only darker. Laffayette's whole plot this season and the last has just proved to be absolutely pointless (though I confess I'd like to see them keeping the scars of his lips for the rest of the show, but I doubt they will) Sookie was as bad as usual, and all that talk about her "luminescence" nearly made me turn off the TV. I wish she would succeed in getting rid of her magic, that would solve so many plot problems... They killed off the only hot guy in the Authority (WTF?!), and we still have to stand that unbearable character that happens to be Eric's sister, come on! And what the hell have they done to Pam's hair?!
The vampire trip was funny, but so completely obvious and trashy that Russel was the only thing to keep me interested in watching those parts. I mean, Russel is brilliant - when Salome and Nora go on with the religious speech, I could take my eyes of him lol So, they decided to turn Lilith into Akasha, is that it? No amount of reference to The Queen of the Damned will ever make me love this show again.

This show is so bad at times, yet I can't stop watching. Easily the worst show that I watch on a regular basis. I acted like I was going to quit after last season, but I just can't do it.

I know. The only reason why it's not my guilty pleasure is that True Blood causes me more anger than pleasure. But I need something to bitch about 12 weeks every year, so I keep watching it.

What's frustrating is that I really thought that it started out as a strong show. But it's just descended into chaos. There are so many disparate plots. When some vampire gets killed by another with some huge explosion of their head, it just feels to me like a metaphor for the show itself.

I had the sense that Lilith was a mass hallucination once Eric stopped seeing her. I hope hope hope they all have awful Lilith hangovers in the next episode.
And really, what's with Pam and the crimping iron?!

While the episode had some stuff I wasn't sold on, I thought the awesome moments more than made up for it. Everything with Russell at the authority was brilliant. "Oh sorry lilith" "She forgives you" was great.
Also the love/hate group stuff was cracking me up.
