What about a crossover with the Walking Dead?, the Vampires could do a  zombie tossing version of 10 pin bowling.

Lady O, spoiler tag your shit woman, FFS.

Oh, sorry. But what did I forget to spoiler tag this time, so that I can fix it/avoid doing that again?

No kidding! My friends have been so nice so far about saying things like, well, I think you'll think season 2 is...interesting. Which heavily implies that it relatively sucks, but leaves some room for the possibility that it's a matter of taste. Oh well! Lady O, nothing as bad as the bit in Kiss's post, just a post a few pages back on the general trend of seasons 2 and 3 - somewhat predictable, but spoiling my hopes that certain characters die violent deaths early in season 2. Can't say exactly without spoiling it myself in this post for someone else, assuming anyone but me hasn't been keeping up with the series anyway, I guess.

Looking forward to the next episode of True Blood, actually, more than not anyway. I really appreciate the writer's humor on the not-killing-off of Tara and her great resurrection as a character with a great character, Pam, to play off of, who was herself used really, really badly last season.

Also, I think Alcide is kinda gross. Is something wrong with me?

How far are you in the show?  Once an episode has been aired for general viewing I didn't think it was necessary to spoilertag discussion of it.

I think Alcide is kinda gross when he's making out with that chick.  If he were making out with me I would think he was less gross.

Agreed. This is for discussing the show, only spoiler tags needed are for bookstuff.

I think she's talking about Walking Dead, as this isn't a WD thread...

I would watch Pam making a sandwich. I think she is awesome. She should have her own spinoff show: "Life according to Pam." She is the ultimate steel magnolia cum vampire.

I thought that was one of the funniest lines in the show's history.  It was delivered so subtly that I wonder if people missed it.

I know. He "underacts" his part, which makes him more lovable. It's hard to believe he's not an American actor, no? :)

Yeah, it blew my mind when I heard he was an Aussie.

Why is it that Americans are so bad at doing the other English language accents but the opposite is not true?

I read that as "He Thundercats his part" and I thought shit just got really weird up in this thread.

Might be because people around the world are exposed to american tv and music, etc but the opposite isn't necessarily true. That's just my absolutely off the wall, unsupported wild guess.

But he's not just doing a typical American accent - he nails the southern accent as well. It's the same with Bill & Eric (Swedish?) I believe.

I think it's also that the biggest market in the world for an actor is America, so acting schools etc put more focus on teaching American accents, and probably just accents in general.  For actors growing up in the US there is much less of a need to know how to do other accents, just need to do the range of American accents and maybe even just the neutral "tv/movie" accent.

I don't think I've ever heard an American actor do an Aussie accent right, but some can do an English one at least - England obviously being a much more likely accent to need than Australian.

None of the characters on this show have a good southern accent. Jason's is a little better than others, but they are all really bad,

Oh come now, Arlene is just wonderfully hickish. They can't get it perfect or else they'd need subtitles. Who wants to read high camp drama?

I watch TB so's I don't have to think.

Even if the accents are bad I still enjoy them. And the endless nice buttshots that seem to work their way on to every episode (Sam & Jason). Plus the females are pretty hot too.

Assuming you're a Texan, you are most certainly a better judge of southern accents so I'm going to trust that judgement.

OT: The hubs is from Texas and has zero accent. Do San Antonians not have accents?
