Looking forward to the next episode of True Blood, actually, more than not anyway. I really appreciate the writer's humor on the not-killing-off of Tara and her great resurrection as a character with a great character, Pam, to play off of, who was herself used really, really badly last season.
Also, I think Alcide is kinda gross. Is something wrong with me?

How far are you in the show? Once an episode has been aired for general viewing I didn't think it was necessary to spoilertag discussion of it.

Agreed. This is for discussing the show, only spoiler tags needed are for bookstuff.

Sorry, it wasn't on purpose

I thought that was one of the funniest lines in the show's history. It was delivered so subtly that I wonder if people missed it.
I know. He "underacts" his part, which makes him more lovable. It's hard to believe he's not an American actor, no?

Yeah, it blew my mind when I heard he was an Aussie.
Why is it that Americans are so bad at doing the other English language accents but the opposite is not true?

Might be because people around the world are exposed to american tv and music, etc but the opposite isn't necessarily true. That's just my absolutely off the wall, unsupported wild guess.
But he's not just doing a typical American accent - he nails the southern accent as well. It's the same with Bill & Eric (Swedish?) I believe.

I don't think I've ever heard an American actor do an Aussie accent right, but some can do an English one at least - England obviously being a much more likely accent to need than Australian.

I watch TB so's I don't have to think.
Even if the accents are bad I still enjoy them. And the endless nice buttshots that seem to work their way on to every episode (Sam & Jason). Plus the females are pretty hot too.
Assuming you're a Texan, you are most certainly a better judge of southern accents so I'm going to trust that judgement.
OT: The hubs is from Texas and has zero accent. Do San Antonians not have accents?
