How to contact Nina Gold?

Hello,

I wrote this topic since I am not sure of how to contact Nina Gold/the casting people for the series. The only address I found online was a postal one and nowadays I'm not sure casting directors bother to read postal mails when almost everything is now done and sent via emails.

So is there any insider are actors here who could tell me how to get in contact with Nina or her people?

Since they cast from all over the world, being French shouldnt be that much of a problem (I am fluent in English); now the question would be for which role - obviously a season 4 new character. I am a natural blonde, 165cm, green-brwon eyes, pale white skin, and curvy (body type: being compared to Anita Ekberg in La Dolce Vità). I've often dyed my hair red or even black, brown etc - well you get it.

I've been acting for 10 good years now (I'm 22); aside from that I do martial arts (especially karate shotokan), artsitic swordfighting, classical dance/ a lil tango; and sing and play a little the guitar.

So.. I'm looking forward to getting a serious response!

and mods: I made several searches to see if such a topic wasn't already created and did'nt find one. I saw other actors asking for tips too but the answers were just "contact Nina" - ok but how?? lol so I hope this post isn't useless!

Thank you!

Since the following information is public, I don't think it's a problem that I post it here:

Nina Gold Casting Ltd

117 Chevening Road

London

NW6 6DU

Phone: 020 8960 6099

Fax: 020 8968 6777

Email: [email protected]

However, I'd strongly recommend that you contact them by phone first, because your email will almost certainly be ignored unless you have an agent or unless you have talked to them in advance. You can then follow up (if they're interested) by sending your resume via snail mail, which is the traditional, recommended way to get in contact with a casting director (or his/her representatives).

Even as an aspiring actoress wouldn't that be considered a little odd just randomly contacting them? I mean sure if you go to an audition and then send like a postal mail thanking them for their time is one thing but just randomly contacting? I don't mean to sound stupid or anything like that, I genuinely want to know. I've just never heard of that being done before through the theater career center class I took or anything. I get the whole having to be proactive and put yourselves out there, but still wouldn't it be considered a little weird just randomly contacting them yourselves? (Since it might be better suited for an agent to do that, if said person had one.)

Sorry if this sounds really stupid of me to even bother asking. But hey I guess I might as well know now instead of way down the line in the long run and potential loose out on a job opportunity by not ever doing what the OP is attempting to do.

I highly recommend that you get an agent. In my experience, most casting directors won't even consider someone who contacts them directly. Even if they did have a kind of "open house" for casting, you'd need a pretty incredible demo reel to even get noticed.

So if you're serious about acting, you need to get an agent. If your only interest is to get a role on Game of Thrones, you still need to get an agent. Either way, best of luck to you.

That's what I was thinking. Randomly just calling an agent would be rather weird and I highly doubt they would truly consider anyone who does that. The only thing I would say about contacting is how if you go to open auditions and then send them a postal card thanking them for their time. (At least that was what my career center teacher said would be a good idea.) But yeah some sort of agency does seem best. I certainly wouldn't want to look unprofessional by calling directors myself lol.

First thanks to all for the different answers; the damn problem is like a vicious circle: I finished my professionnal acting school last year; now I have begun castings, little roles etc but, unlike at school, those roles are not very.. hmmm interesting, they do not demand a lot of emotions from you and are not fit for a demo-reel. But you'd better have a good demo if you want a good agent who finds you good casting calls. But without an agent, it is harder to find casting for real, good, demanding roles.. - see where I'm heading with that?

So I'm working on that right now: collecting good clips for a demo-reel and to find an agent, but was wondering if, once put in contact, there would be a way to know first if there is a role I could be right for and then send directly a demo (I think they wont begin casting for season 4 before a few months, I hope by then the roles i would have gotten will improve and be demo-worthy!, but finding a Paris agent trusted by Nina.. meh.)

Thanks again for those answers, keep them coming, if anyone has other advice, if you are an actor and went through GOT auditions: did you have an agent? How did you find about it? how did it go? etc etc

You won't get a role by contacting a casting agent. You need to build up your resume and acting reel, and as others have said get an agent to do these kinds of things for you. Calling a casting director out of the blue is just wasting their time, and it will actually hurt your chances rather than help.

EDIT: Also you will find tons of people casting roles for short films, this is a good way to boost your reel while looking for paid work. And you know, you can always write some shorts yourself (or get a writer friend to write them for you) and get some amateur filmmakers with a DSLR (and a good knowledge of lighting at least) and add to your reel yourself. Good luck, being an actor is tough and it's not a life I would recommend for anyone haha.

Yep, that I know - but well i've always wanted to act, managed to leave my mom's house at 17 to go to Paris, auditioned and got in an acting school, and now the castings are one: for directors schools projects, photos, short films etc etc (AAMOF I am to shoot friday if nothing goes wrong xD )

I'm writing a scenario, but it's a full feature, it's "historical" (beginning of Resistance in Paris during WW2, so it's a looong term project that involves a damn good professionnal production. Money money money is gonna be needed, so that's my writing work outside acting.

I did paid jobs when I finished my studies, but most of the casting calls are: are you free tomorrow at 3pm? lol - for now I can offerd doing only this but by the end of the year.. money again dammit lol

If I asked for the Nina Gold contact it's because I saw quite a few actors out there talking about it, even some seaming to have an agent knowing her, or having already auditionned for a GOT part without looking really well into acting per se: as you say, really working for it: stage, short movies, etc etc (maybe it's just the impression I had, or the "casting tapes" I saw were really just rehearsals before the real said casting, I dont know)

But thanks for your input!

Casting directors of Nina Gold's caliber almost always work with agents and won't consider unsolicited mailings. I don't want to use the term 'impossible' here, but realistically, your chances of being considered for a role in GoT is very, very slim as long as you don't have an agent.

Also keep in mind that getting a talent agent is one thing, getting a good agent is another :) But I guess at this stage in your career an agent is better than no agent at all.

You can find lots of information online on how to get an agent. I'd also recommend IMDb Pro, because it contains a lot of contact information that's not available via IMDb. You can also find lots of interviews with agents and casting directors (who offer their advice) on YouTube. You can also purchase books about how to get an agent on Amazon.com. Basically, do as much research as your time affords.

haha aint that right! a good agent that actually gets you good castings! That's why I'm working on getting a good demo-reel before sollicitating agents - and then who knows, if I get a very good one, we then could try and contact Nina Gold  :leer: *hoping very hard*

Are you an actress yourself/in the cinema biz?

Thanks!

Hello Lux

I've just arrived on this forum, and your topic interests me big time héhé

So, since your last message, did you manage to apply for season 4 auditions? Did you managed to find good contacts to have good informations about all that?

I've made a lot of researches myself about it, but all informations I could find was about being a extra in Ireland. Even if I'm a professional comedian, it interests me too to be behind the scenes lol...but we need to be Irish to be part of the extras pfff

Coz yes, i've forgotten to say, I'm French, and live near Paris. Je suis comédienne(formation théâtre) ;)

So, did you get your goal?

Thanks for reading me ;)

hi there,

I have followed the post as visitor for long but some of my personal projects are moving now and I wanted to ask. How about stuntmen? I'm a sword master with now 15 years of experiences in Medieval fencing, just opened my own HEMA club/school here in Switzerland and I'm trying to find how to get in, not as actor but as swords man or stuntman.

We have entertained people all over Europe during years now, but it remain events limited in time and I'm searching a way to change of orientation now. I have a large net of links in this specific comunity but most of them are History fans or Scientifics wiht no real interest on TV or Theather and more over no contact in this industry.

Do you have any idea that could be of help?

Thanks for your help and kind regards.

I am probably late to say this, but if you still need help, http://www.louisejohnstonmanagement.com/showpage.asp?page=home is probably the best way in. The are agency that works with Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and I am told they are influential when it comes to the casting of GOT.

That girl could pass for Joffrey's sister, really.

I saw an interview with Maisie recently where she spoke at length about how she got her start.

She went to a talent workshop/expo one weekend with a few of her friends she dances with. One of the activities was on Improvisation. When she finished, Louise approached her and asked if she was interested in acting and Maisie said 'No' because she wanted to dance.

At the end of the day, Louise found her again and asked if she had been signed by anyone. Again Maisie said 'No. Why?'

Louise said 'I am thinking about starting an agency and I'd really like to sign you.' A talk to the parents later and the papers were signed.

Basically it means Maisie is in all likelihood the first person she ever had on the books. Its like winning the lottery with the first ticket you ever buy.

Hey everyone,

I've just read that Robert Sterne is also the casting director of the GoT so to Lux i suggest you to contact him too. I do not know where are you about your dream but i hope you have some stuff to show (a drama school training, a showreel (with very good sound and images quality ), professionnal headshots...i mean the basics of every actors and actresses who wants to work on TV and Cinema as it is not only what you look like in real life it is most importantly what you look like on screen, which is a hole world for some people. Some of us are liked by the camera some others are hated by it, very tough buisness so goodluck.

Peace

Bonsoir lux.

Merci d'avance.

Pyke.
