Will Dany be able to control them through Drogon?

Will they be killed before they kill anyone else?

Will someone else be able to ride them? And who would be brave enough to approach them after what happened to Quentyn?

Will someone with warging ability like Bran, Arya, and Jon have the opportunity to warg into them?

(Can you imagine Arya warging into one of them as if she wasn't already badass enough)

I suspect one of them will be tamed by (dragon expert) Tyrion. Victarion's horn is probably also going to come into play, one way or another.

In Tyrion's ADWD chapter where he leads Penny to the Second Sons, he notes that dragons are vulnerable only at the eyes. This may be how one of the two dragons goes down at some point..

I believe that Victarion and Tyrion will claim Viserion and Rhaegal, with Victarion's dragon then passing to Aegon, and then to Jon.

  • I suppose Ben Plumm may get one, since the dragons kinda liked him.
  • Victorian may get one also, thanks to his magic horn.

No

Yes, Jon would be willing if the stakes were high enough.

It seems we can suspect that one of the dragons will get a "placeholder" as rider, as one of the dragons remaining uncontrolled seems unlikely and Jon probably will take it over at some point (and the earlier rider needs to die, then, IIRC, or no new bond could be made).

But will that fall to Victarion (in alliance with Dany or as an enemy), to Euron (who may take "his" dragon to Westeros, then, forcing Dany to follow), or to someone like Brown Ben?

I think we will learn something new about the need for a different dragon rider for each dragon.

I think Dany keeps control of all three dragons.  Primarily because with "only" two books left, the dragons getting separated (no matter how much we would enjoy reading about it) seems like it would add even more plots/subplots to a story that already has a lot of plots/subplots.

The Braavosi/Faceless Men use info stolen from The Citadel to learn how to kill dragons. And do just that. Isn't that why Jacquen is hanging around The Citadel?

i have a feeling not all the dragons will make it, i think drogon will, but reckon either viserion or rhaegal will die. Seems like the kind of curve ball GRRM would throw in.

It'd be a little anticlimactic if they just killed off the other two dragons.

I actually believe Dany will tame them, she is the blood of the dragon and their mother. Though I think other will try as well. If Jon or Tyrion rides one of the dragons it will be at Danys side.

A person can only be in control of one dragon, no matter if that person is a mother of dragons. A dragon, however, can have multiple riders. Balerion outlived Aegon I by many years, so he must have had a few riders.

Taking Dany's vision of a stunted white lion in tall grass into consideration, I believe Tyrion will ride Viserion, as both are white (at least in Tyrion's vision-self) and smaller than their siblings (Viserion is described to look like a bat, hanging from the ceiling).

Lion

The white lino could be a metaphor for Jaime since he is a white cloak, and his sigil is a lion.
