by this i mean alot of fans of the show are not aware the game of thrones is based on a book. fore example i was whatching a TYT video reveiw and they seem completley ignorant about the books saying that they thin joffrey will die next season and how dany is imune to fire.im not saying this apllies to all fans but many. for example i have heard it said many times that ned stark died due to sean beans wages and the hbo budjet. is this just me who feels this?any thoughts??

I won't call them ignorant, they just don't know it, the average TV-viewer doesn't read fantasy, fantasy isn't avery popular genre compared to crime. Hey there are people out there which doesn't know the Hobbit or LotR are based on book or are conected too

Oy vey.

D'you know that Ramo is based on a book? Or the Godfather series? A lot more stuff is inspired by lierature than you'd expect.

The fans may have known/read the series but were talking specifically about the show-it's made enough changes to be surprising and Dany is shown to be immune to fire.

It did take courage for HBO to adapt a series who's main character partway  through book 1.

There's too much TV versus Books,

TV fans are supposedly ignorant

Book fans are pretentious snobs...

And its all a stupid debate because we all love the same thing essentially. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

PS John Carpenters 1982 'The Thing' was a remake. Does knowing that make me better and others ignorant?

Nope nope nope nope never.

ignorant is a strong word they just speculate what they see on the show cause they don't read the books whats wrong with that. The show already went so far from the books anyway

No idea why it's ignorant, not everyone knows this book series....big deal.

Maybe they know it's a book series but they just haven't read or don't want to read.

No, you were right to say ignorant.  "Ignorant" is the most accurate word to use for "unaware or unknowledgeable in a particular area."

You're lucky. Most fans of the show I know said they're too lazy to read the books. Not sure how one can follow such an exciting series and be willfully ignorant of hat goes on next in i.

When I read the title I thought, well, I've read some in-depth analysis of Jon's parentage citing Mendelian inheritance and statistical likelihoods that made me wonder the same.

Then I clicked and went, oh!

I saw the first season the it aired and read all the books after in three months. I even thought about skipping the first book because people were like "its just like the show" but I knew better (I have read books that became books latter on and know for a fact stuff is taken out and other B.s. is added. So I read A Game of thrones  and never looked back.
