I like the thought of her never making it to Westeros, but she's not a villain and never could be.  I have my doubts about Show Dany, but Book Dany, no way.

Excuse me but tell me how Stannis is being set up as a villain? As far as I can see Stannis is the one who actually cares about the others and wants to stop them. "In order to win the throne, I must save the kingdom" etc, to me that seems like Stannis is the good guy if anything.

As someone said previously: Dragons, eunuch warriors, sellswords and Dothraki. Yeah, some saviour. When a peasant is being slaughtered while his family are being raped by said Dothraki and his village is being burned down by said dragons I'm sure he'll cry "mysha mysha".

Edited for spelling

What you forget is that though Stannis intentions appear to be good on the outside, he is still a puppet of Melisandre. Stannis chosen destiny will only see him clashing with the real AA at the end. What I'm trying to say is that, for AA to take his/her rightful place as the savior of the realm, the pretender, Stannis needs to be dealt with first.

"Glowing like sunset, a red sword was raised in the hand of a blue-eyed king who cast no shadow."

This prophecy leads me to believe that Stannis may indeed be the next night king. I think Stannis has already given his seed and soul to Melisandre...

Prophecies don't prove something. Remember The Stallion Who Mounts the World, it never happened...

She is going to show up one of two ways.  Via the Ironborne....great PR...right?  OR using the ironborn ships she takes and bringing a massive foreign invasion full of Dothraki and Unsullied and dragons...yes....Westeros is going to welcome her with open arms. :stillsick:

She's going to arrive the same way as Aegon the Conqueror did.

Are ye sure about that? What if Mirri Maz Duur and the old women mis-interpreted the prophecy?

What if Mirri Maz Duur actions only fulfilled the prophecy, instead of bringing it to an end?

Is Rhaego alive? No. It didn't happen then.

No she is not.

Quote

As swift as the wind he rides, and behind him his khalasar covers the earth, men without number, with arakhs shining in their hands like blades of razor grass. Fierce as a storm this prince will be. His enemies will tremble before him, and their wives will weep tears of blood and rend their flesh in grief. The bells in his hair will sing his coming, and the milk men in the stone tents will fear his name." The old woman trembled and looked at Dany almost as if she were afraid. "The prince is riding, and he shall be the stallion who mounts the world.

I don't think she's the MAIN villain (if there even is one) but I hope she does something to spice her story arc up. I don't like Dany, I think she's an idiot, she'd be a terrible ruler and she's probably half-insane by now ... but at least turning her towards the "dark side" would make her interesting again. No one ever said that the song of "Ice and Fire" (perhaps Stannis and Dany duking it out) had to necessarily be between a bad guy and a good guy - depending on perspective, Stannis is good and Dany is evil, or vice versa, or they could both be good or evil, etc.

The prophecy was never explicit in Rhaego becoming the stallion who mounts the world, just that tSWMtW is associated in some way with Dany.

Read the prophecy carefully....

"Prophecy will bite your prick off every time..."---?
I can't understand how it can be for Dany.

The old women mis-interpreted the prophecy. They naturally assumed that it was a "prince", because in the Dothraki tradition, only a man can lead a khalasar.

There's also this Dothraki prophecy (from Daenerys 3, AGOT)

Quote

Down in the Shadow Lands beyond Asshai, they say there are oceans of ghost grass, taller than a man on horseback with stalks as pale as milkglass. It murders all other grass and glows in the dark with the spirits of the damned. The Dothraki claim that someday ghost grass will cover the entire world, and then all life will end.”

'ghost grass...pale as milkglass' sounds a lot like a description of snow for someone who has never seen it before. And the Dothraki claim it will cover the whole world one day. Yet they also claim that there will be a stallion who mounts the world. Those two prophecies kind of clash imo

Ala Marwyn the Mage. Prophacey never works the way you think it will, but trust that it will fuck up your shit EVERY SINGLE TIME. If I take away one constant from this series of inconsistencies, it's don't ignore prophecy. They're there for a reason. That's the whole point of Cersei's plot in Crows.

I also don't think they're taking about Dany, but I do think they're talking about Dany's kid.

How will they clash? Are both prophecies supposed to occur at the same time?

Well given that the Others are likely to attack next book, the ghost-grass prophecy doesn't seem so far away right now. Neither does the SWMTW, given that Dany has amassed a large force, so there's a clash

Are the Shadowlands covered with snow?
