So GrrM has been very creative with how he kills off characters. Some have been tragic, but alot have been justified and so satisfying.

I thought that we can reflect on our favs that have already occured like. Viserys and his "golden crown", or the Goat dying from infection when Brienne bit off his ear,or Lysa being pushed out the moon door.

We can also maybe alter deaths that have already happened to make them more "poetic". For example instead of Sansa being a pawn in Joffrey's demise,we could make her the mastermind.

Finally,we can also state what we'd like to see happen to characters that deserve to die, not really predictions, just wishful thinking.Like I think it would be awesome if Arya were to warg into Nymeria and eat Walder Frey.....but then poor Nymeria would probably get indegestion because Frey's so old and bitter.

So have a go.....what have been the sweetest/best "poetic justice" deaths and who deserves to die and at whose hands.

Especially after Sansa wishes in AGoT for some hero to chop off his head.

Although I'm not sure it counts as poetic I rather liked Gregor's slow and painful demise.

Arya's tickler death was great, if not a little disturbing.  But my favourite is Viserys' crown.

This is the one I was thinking of, easily my most favorite one in the books.

Ned Stark.

Got thousands of people killed by being inflexibly "honorable". Moment he gave up that honor to lie for his life (and his daughters'), he gets his head chopped off.

Lysa. She always was trying to push people out the Moon Door at her son's command.

Probably my favorite one that has occurred.

Some I would like to see:
Ramsay Bolton being eaten by his hounds.
Darrio being killed by his sellsword company.
Barristan dying in a heroic manner defending either Dany, The Realm, or some small folk. I think it would be most poetic if rather then dying defending a King or Queen he died defending an innocent family.

Reading this thread makes me wonder if there were any, major unpoetic deaths.  GRRM really is a fan of them isn't he?

That's a really wonderful point. Never quite came down to me. But Tywin was never really set up as a saint, was he? So... just that you lose respect for him... maybe... I personally lost respect for Tyrion during the scene...

Anyways, it's Ser Kevan. Varys was so right to kill him. It was in the back of my mind ever since he started working instead of Cersei, that this guy is going to set things right, this is not gonna be okay if we want a big boom here. But he was a good man and never deserved to die. And his death scene was among the most bittersweet, romantic, epicnesses of ASOIAF.

1. Lysa is champion here "Only Cat"...I love it...
2. Tywin...he died in the most undignified way...
3. Viserys...his death alone works for me...

Yeah, although I always found that pretty unsatisfying as a scene.

For all his flaws, Tywin was also set up as a powerful and unemotional character. The sudden "hey, my son's whore is in my bed" just didn't ring true at all. It wasn't a case of "oh, look, his whole facade has been a lie". It was a "no, sorry, I just don't buy that" reaction instead.

The Frey Pie is a pretty awesome comeuppance.  I'm not sure if forced cannibalism is technically poetic, but I am going to cast my vote for yes.

Frey Pie or as I like to call it "White Harbor Clam Chowder"

I don't think it was a sign that his facade was false. He was not emotional still. He was not showing love or anything. Even cold men have dicks.

Waymer Royce in the first chapter.  Came off as the rich noble who didn't believe in grumpkins and snarks.  Then boom, destroyed.

Jon Snow - stabbed and killed by the very brothers he tried so hard to protect

some i would like to see -

Stannis - refuses to leave the iron throne and is burned alive by drogon's flames
melisandre - burned as well
Jamie - hanging on with his good hand while dangling out a window, a bran-warged crow flies down and pecks his fingers causing him to plummet to his death
samwell - runs into his father and has his body chopped vertically in two by heartsbane for becoming a maester (ok that one isnt real but one can dream)
Mance, brown ben, crow's eye, darkstar, gendry, shaggydog and rickon - may they live forever
