I had a feeling that would pretty much be your reaction.  Torn ligaments, to go on IR.

ETA: Jason Garrett is saying 50-50 he can play through it.  Still TBD.

Yeah...I've got Dez in my Work League, Money Dynasty, Experts, Westeros 1, and Westeros 2.  And Westeros Dynasty, but that one is eliminated.  So I was all in this year, and it paid off.

Until now.  :crying:

And Jared Cook is out for the year too.

Probably doesn't matter to anybody other than me.  He was my TE2 in Experts, and was playing pretty well lately.

I feel like the Cobra Kai are behind this.  I can almost hear Jaime yelling "put him in a body bag, Johnny!"

Heading into halftime, my lead in Westeros 2 is down to 1 point.  And Houston will be passing the entire 2nd half.  Not looking good.

Got the wins in both Thunderdome and Westeros 2.  In the semi-finals in 8 leagues.

Will post an overall Westeros update in a few minutes.

That loss in W2 was so frustrating. Lost in my big money too against a team where EVERY SINGLE PLAYER had 10+ points. Seriously. Unreal timing.

W3 and my other money are my last chances at a championship this year. Fuck.

So annoyed about last week. But, still alive one time.

Gotta pick Bennett vs ATL or Kyle Rudolph vs STL. Anyone know how hurt Rudolph is?

Also have to start two of Gore (vs NE), Spiller (vs SEA) or BJGE (@PHI). And pick between Nicks and A. Brown for my 3rd WR.

I have the same TE decision in one league.  Going to start Bennett.  Its hard to trust Rudolph right now.  He's got nice upside, but there have been too many games where he's put up a zero.

At RB, I'd start Gore and Spiller.

At WR, I'd probably start Nicks, as long as he makes it through the week without a setback.

I think Bennett over Rudolph is a no-brainer.  Both see the end zone now and then but Martellus gets regular use elsewhere.

I would use BJGE and Spiller over Gore.  BJGE has been quietly very strong the past four weeks and I love the matchup.

Agree with WJ on Nicks/Brown.

Lawfirm/Gore/Spiller is by far the hardest of the call, but I figured I'd throw the other two out there. Anyone think Gronk could be back for this week?  Nothing feels stupider than carrying three TEs on a team.

Anyway, I'm leaning a little towards BJGE/Spiller, just because:

NE: 7th against the run by FO, 8th against the run by NFL.com, 3.88 YPC

Seattle: 13th against the run by FO, 10th against the run by NFL.com, 4.43 YPC

Philly: 11th against the run by FO, 17th against the run by NFL.com, 4.16 YPC

Actually, by that (and Spiller being the clear-cut guy on an offense that goes entirely through him with FJax out), it's a question of Gore or BJGE.  Gore is a better back, but he has a worse matchup and a team that might be trying to rest him for the playoffs.  His YPC are also actually worse since Kaepernick took over.

Gore (season): 4.91 YPC; Gore (Smith): 5.513 YPC; Gore (Kaepernick): 3.972 YPC
- Didn't include the St. Louis game where Smith got hurt in this.

He also had only 12 carries and 2 catches last game, though he had 23 carries the previous game (vs. the Rams; can pro-rate that to an 18.4 carry game, since the 23 came over 5 quarters).

BJGE (Season); 4.09 YPC; BJGE (past 4 games): 5.395 YPC, though admittedly against some terrible run defenses. And he catches the ball considerably more than gore (weird); he gets 1-2 catches per game, Gore gets a catch about every other game.

I will probably change my mind six times between now and tomorrow night.

Another thing to consider : of those three which team will likely be in the lead for much of the game? Or rather two, since spiller is kind of a no brainer. I would think that it's more likely law firm will, so he will at least get 10ish points. Gore may not at all; look at foster last game.

some general bitching about my FF season.... this year I thought I was ready to step up to the big boy league with an entrance fee, custom rules, and all that stuff.  I did my research, added Matthew Berry to my podcast list, and weighed all my matchups.

Then I went 0 - 4, losing each game by less thn 5 points.

and 0 - 6

Somewhere in there, I said, "screw you guys, I'm going home."  and stopped paying attention.  Then by sheer luck, after not touching my roster from the previous week, I won my first game!  I was now 1 - 7!!!  And then Doug Martin put up something like 50 points and I was 2 - 7, so now I'm looking at the playoffs, thinking, "Hot damn, if I can only run the table, I may still win this thing!!!"  I kept on winning, until Steve Smith (who I started on advice from that idiot Matthew Berry) put up a stinker with 2 points, knocking me out.

The main irony here, and I'm guessing people in this thread know it well, is that my team is now pretty stacked, with Doug Martin, Benjarvus Green-Ellis, Calvin Johnson, CJ Spiller, and Matt Ryan on the roster in a 12 team league.  In the remaining games of the season which don't count for anything, I'm projected to win each by a margin of ~30 points.

Lesson learned for next year.  It ain't over until Steve Smith whines enough to get some balls thrown his way.  Also next year I need to double down in multiple leagues because being out of the playoffs sucks.
