How many soldiers does Daenerys have inside Mereen?

How big is the slaver army currently encamped around Mereen?

ADWD does not mention these things. It is annoying.

Sometime ago I posted a thread and I asked the first question. It added up to roughly 20,000, though we cannot be certain that it is indeed that size and/or that all of her freedmen are warriors.

As for the slaver army currently encamped around Meereen...I couldn't really say, although it would at least be 40,000 - 50,000 roughly.

Are you asking if Oberyn poisoned him and killed him, or are you referring to another time?

If it is the first option, then I'm afraid its impossible. Tywin was killed at the hands of his son Tyrion, with a crossbow. I can give you the chapter of SOS in which it happened if you wish?

If it is the second, then could you please clarify what it is you are asking?

No, it was certainly Tyrion that killed Tywin. But there's a thread linking tidbits of information revealing that Oberyn had most likely poisoned Tywin before that; the man was dying already. His bowels were shut down, that is why he's on the privy at the end, and it's why the corpse smells so badly. There's a lot of hints, and I for one was pretty convinced. Here's one version of the thread with some of those hints: http://asoiaf.wester...poisoned-tywin/

Ah, okay. Sorry, I wasn't sure what you were getting at there. Hmm, it's an interesting theory. Thank you for the link :)

The Ironmen and Stannis are still fighting, so the Wot5K was just on hiatus like the War of the Roses and the Hundred Years' War.

"What happened to Syrio's body"?

Guaranteed he doesn't give a straight answer.

Yet there are so many people which would dispute it. I for one don't think it is over at all but that's chatter for other more suitable threads.

Exactly my point! I was recently on a thread discussing the Wo5K, and for quite some time I debated with a user whether or not it had ended.

In the philosophy of art, cognitivism is the idea that art's primary source of value is its capacity to enlighten us. Something like this sort of idea is perhaps behind the tendency of some literary circles to dismiss genre fiction, because for instance fantasy fiction necessarily departs to some extent from the workings of the real world, and so one might expect it to always be at a disadvantage. Of course this is too quick - people have long used unrealistic myths and allegories specifically to impart lessons etc. Nevertheless, what are your thoughts about the advantages and disadvantages of fantasy fiction in terms of what it can tell us about life, human nature and so on?

I doubt that he has a straight answer for the locations of many of the dead on ASoIaF. And there have been many dead...

I did not go through and read every question, so mine might have been asked already. If this is a repeat, so sorry.

Does Lyanna's tomb contain more than her bones?

I don't know if he'll answer this, but just ask anyway. The maesters think the dragons are all gone all over, but you said in one of your correspondence with fans that there are parts of the world that are still terra incognita, so tales of dragon sightings are frequent in those places; however, the maesters ignore those accounts. Is it possible then that Dany's dragons not the only dragons alive (just the ones known to exist) in their world? Bran, during his coma, also saw "dragons stirred beneath the sunrise"; are these Dany's dragon in the future, or dragons currently in existence?

This is an excellent one, I would love to see the answer to this.
