[Book Spoilers] Sansa and her doll - Blackwater

This I thought it was very interesting, because even though they didn't do the scene exactly like the book, they added their own symbolism.

I'll put the facts and it will be up to you to post what do you think it represents:

In season one we have Sansa who was mad at her father for killing Lady, and Eddard gives her a doll, Sansa tells him that she hasn't played with dolls in years and storms out.

In season two, Blackwater, Sansa retreats to her chambers, bars the door and picks up a doll. She was about to smile at the doll when Sandi speaks.

They have their scene (we're not going to go on about how we wish they should have stick to the book). when Sandor leaves, she is holding the doll with one hand and lowers the arm, and we have a close shot of the doll.

So what do you think they are trying to communicate here? Maybe that she is ready to leave her childhood and innocence behind and becoming more Sansa Lv Storm? Or something more related to the Sandor and she sees him like a parental figure?

You tell me.

i just took it to mean that she was thinking of a better time when her father was still alive. tbh, i thought that scene in the first season was a bit cringey and i wouldn't have put it in originally, but when i saw the doll make a reappearance in blackwater i loved that moment, it made me wish for ned back again

I agree, that scene alone in S1 doesn't work without this one. But I find it interesting that they brought it back in this scene particularly with Sandor
