If HBO hypothetically decided to do a flashback to robert's rebellion the cast would be.....

Arianne Stark

Recommended Posts

The only actor I know I would desire for a RR/ToJ flashback would be a younger Ned Stark played by Ben McKenzie, provided he could do a similar English accent.

McKenzie is a fairly well-known actor, currently playing the lead in Gotham. The two actors look fairly similar, but there is a distinct difference between Ben and Sean, being that Ben looks, regardless of the age difference, like a more bright-eyed, wide-eyed version of Sean. I think this would actually help his appearance more than hurt it, as it would create a distinct visual differentiation between pre-ToJ Ned and post-ToJ Ned.

Unrealistic

Eddard - Christian Bale

Brandon - Ethan Hawke

Lyanna - Kate Beckinsale or Keira Knightley

Rickard - Viggo Mortensen

Robert - Gerard Butler or Henry Cavill

Raegar - Orlando Bloom

Aerys - Bill Nighy

I feel like Jeremy Irons is too perfect not to play someone, so he is in as Jon Arryn. Jason Isaacs as well as Hoster Tully.

I picture the Dayne siblings as Arthur (Bradley James) and Morgana (Katie McGrath) from the show Merlin. I could even imagine their relationship being somewhat similar to that of the young Pendragons in the first season of the show (deeply caring for each other but constantly pushing each other's buttons and bickering a lot) minus the sexual tension (well, maybe just a hint ;-))

Who do you think could play the key characters to Robert's Rebellion if you could see a flashback to it.

Eddard Stark: Sean Bean maybe with some makeup like boromir:P

Brandon Stark: He needs to resemble Eddard but I couldn't find that one.

Robert B: Viggo Mortensen

Lyanna: Eva Green

Elia Martell: Antonia Thomas

Jon Arryn: have no clue

Rhaegar: Jonathan Ryhs Meyers if they could fit him to a white wig.

Aerys: James Cromwell (saw him from the trailer in AHS)

Robert B. Eddard and Lyanna ideas came from youtube videos that I've watched about it you can find various fan made tribute videos :D

Why would they cast Viggo Mortensen as Robert? He is like 50, Robert was like 18... They are going to be mostly unknown actors, like in the flashbacks in boardwalk empire. They are all going to be much younger than you are visualising them.

We're gonna get flashbacks in season 5 so maybe they'll do some things related to Robert's rebellion (I mean R+L=J has to come up at some point anyway).

I agree.Probably from the tourney where Rhaegar crowned Lyanna "Queen of love and beauty". I was also thinking they will have a flashback to Cersei and Maggy the frog's prediction.

How's that:

Rickard Stark: Viggo Mortensen (I suppose Rickard is in his late 40s or early 50s, so an older version of Aragorn would work for me) Also, brown hair, light blue eyes that are similar to grey.

Brandon Stark: Henry Cavill (A bit on the old side, but he will do.)

Eddard Stark: Max Irons (Same rules apply)

Lyanna Stark: Anna Popplewell (?)

Robert Baratheon: Anuerin Barnard

Stannis Baratheon: Alexander Vlahos

Aerys Targaryen: Jason Isaacs :)

Rhaella Targaryen: Charlize Theron

Rhaegar Targaryen: Jamie Campbell Bower

Elia Martell: Aiysha Hart

Tywin Lannister: Philip Winchester

Cersei Lannister: Holliday Grainger

Jaime Lannister: Toby Regbo

Hoster Tully: Damien Lewis

Catelyn Tully: Isolda Dychauk or Freya Mavor

Lysa Tully: Bonnie Wright or Rachel Hurd Wood

Jon Arryn: Liam Neeson (duh!)

Well?

Shailene Woodley could pull off Lyanna Stark. She's pretty young, and has a long face. Though maybe not tomboyish/steely enough.

I don't get the Eva Green suggestions. She's old for the part (mid 30's), and kind of weird/creepy/unlikeable in the stuff I've seen her in.

I'd like to see Emily Blunt in a role somewhere - she's been awesome in the last two movies I've seen her in (Looper / Edge of Tomorrow). Probably too old for Lyanna.

I agree, Eva Green is just too old and too cold to play Lyanna. Emily Blunt would make a good Ashara, perhaps. She or Adelaide Kane. I think Shailene is a great actress but I doubt she could play a good Lyanna. Stannis' wife, more probably. xD

Why should there be a recasting for Tywin? Charles Dance about 20 years ago would still look like Charles Dance with more hair and less lines on his face. Nothing a little make up cant fix.

I tried to keep these somewhat realistic in terms of the number of big-name actors:

Ned - Charlie Hunham

Robert - Thomas M. Wright

Lyanna - Tatiana Maslany

Aerys - Bill Nighy

Elia - Emily Rios

Tywin - I think with some help from the make-up department, Charles Dance could easily play 20 years younger version of Tywin.

Cersei - Georgina Haig

Jaime - Fran Kanz (Yeah... I'm probably the most iffy about this one, but I was impressed by his range between Cabin in the Woods and Much Ado About Nothing. Beef him up a little and I think he's work as a young Nikolaj)

Varys - Erik Charles Nielsen (yes, Garrett from Community. It's hard to find young, overweight actors who have "broken out", but his more reserved performance in Computer Chess convinced me)

Howland Reed - Dominic Monaghan

Robert Baratheon - Henry Cavill

Eddard Stark - Jack O'Connell

Brandon Stark - Sullivan Stapleton

Lyanna Stark - Eva Green / Kaya Scodelario

Rickard Stark - Liam Neeson

King Aerys - Anthony Hopkins

Rhaegar Targaryen - Chris Hemsworth

Jaime Lannister - Evan Peters

Tywin Lannister - Mark Strong

Elia Martell - Aiysha Hart

Robert - Joe Dempsie

Unrealistic

Eddard - Christian Bale

Brandon - Ethan Hawke

Lyanna - Kate Beckinsale or Keira Knightley

Rickard - Viggo Mortensen

Robert - Gerard Butler or Henry Cavill

Raegar - Orlando Bloom

Aerys - Bill Nighy

Why are you all casting someone short or average for Robert, who's supposed to be a giant among princes, muscled like a maidens fantasy, broad shouldered and almost 2 meters, strong enough to wield a hammer Ned can scarcely lift, et cetera?

He's supposed to be as big as The Hound is in the series. Just more muscular.

Agreed

Are we talking books or show when you say series? Because the Hound is described in the novels as being very muscular. In the show I don't like how their present Rory, the armor they have him in makes him look overweight.

Henry Cavill may not be a 2 meters tall giant but he most certainly isn't average, he's a maiden's dream. In the dictionary its his photo next to Maiden's dream definition :D
