I'm sure everyone knows this but me, but if I decide I want to close my account out & go back to just lurking (so that I won't be tempted to be drawn into a discussion), how would I go about doing that?
note: I haven't decided to do that just yet, but I want the option.

You can't do it yourself, AFAIK. If you want Ran to delete your account, send him a PM. The other thing to do, of course, is sign out and do not sign back in. You won't be able to post if you're not signed in.
