Is anybody here interested in going to the World Fantasy Convention?
Held this year in Brighton, UK, from 31st October until 3rd November.

It may be your chance to get beaten up by China Miéville. I hear some people have been thinking about that...

I haven't really planned that far ahead, but I might consider going to it since it's relatively close by.

it's a long while away but i'd consider it too as it's only 40mins away on the train.

If one is interested, buy your membership now (I believe you can transfer them to others if you cannot go). World Fantasy has a membership cap, meaning only a limited number of people can attend. It has sold out in the past, sometimes months in advance.

I'm thinking about it. Not made up my mind yet. It's a rare chance to do WFC since it's on this side of the Atlantic...

And China Miéville is a great author. I liked his "The city and the city".

At this point I am planning on being there. The idea is that I will come over for the Con, then my wife will join me for a bit of a UK holiday. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet some of the London BwB etc :-)

I have been thinking about this con too. I did not attend a single convention in 2012 after all.

I really want to go.. i'm in Australia but travelling to the uk and italy etc this year !!! Ah i'm so excited to get out of my boring modern city where everything shuts at 5pm and everything here is 5 times more expensive than the US and the UK/europe.   damn this mining boom...

So excited thinking about europe though, oh man. Especially after all those comparisons lol, can't wait for europeeeee!!!! The thought of conventions make me even more excited.

No one I know in Australia even knows what cosplay is! LOL. None of that over in west aus....     I'm going to brighton anyway (again) even if I can't get to the convention

I've still not quite decided. It would be useful to know how many memberships they have left. Maybe I should ask them...

I wanted to go to WFC but as warned they have hit their initial cut off point and suspended membership sales.

The website does say that at some point after they have finalised memberships for artists, publishers, dealers and award nominees they will be selling any remaining memberships on a first come first served basis though I suspect there won't be many of those on offer.

Ah well...I kinda foresaw that happening before I finally manage to decide...
I might keep an eye on any additional memberships coming though.

Maybe I'll do TitanCon instead
