I hope dragons come back.  Not just Danny's... Like a lot of them were sleeping or in Valaria and then come back into the world.

If Brienne's last word was "sword," I really dread Jaime's reaction to the fact that Brienne has forsaken him. :(

I dread what will happen to Sweetrobin. I hope Sansa doesn't think of marrying him though. TBH their relationship makes me uncomfortable.

I will read with a heavy heart when the Others finally come south of the Wall...

Brienne is going to die saving Jaime from the BWB. In her eyes, it would be the perfect way to redeem herself. She couldn't save Renly, but at least she would be able to give her life saving Jaime.

- More Stark deaths
- Dany winning the Iron Throne
- More dead direwolves
- Dragons being killed ( I know they're WMD's, but I like the dragons)
- Tyrion dying
- The Starks being wiped out (Don't think it will happen, but you never know)
- Jaime being killed by UnCat or Brienne
- The final battle with the Others being unfulfilling (I can see it being some cliche type of everyone putting aside their differences to band together and destroy the bad guy Others)

-There being no conclusion

To be fair, you can still be very alive to the supposed "changes" Sansa has undergone without becoming a fan of the character. It's not really fair to imply that the only reason readers could be non-fans of Sansa is that they're "missing" something or they're not reading carefully enough to grasp the "subtle" changes.

Maybe they're truly subtle readers who have accurately glimpsed all "changes," but they just can't get past her behaviour/actions in AGOT. Or maybe they've seen all the "changes" you have, and they still don't like her. One can be the most subtle, discerning reader of the books and still hate Sansa with the fire of a thousand suns. (Just ask an Arya fan, ha!)

Sansa fans aren't necessarily blessed with some special insight into the character that Sansa non-fans lack. Avid, careful reader Sansa fans just happen to like her, just as avid, careful reader Sansa non-fans happen to dislike her. Diversity of opinion is awesome!

Heh. Every thread is a Sansa thread; it just takes some threads longer than others to realize it.
Thank you for this post, Newstar. Its why i get really irritated when people say "YOU NEED TO A REREAD" if any criticism is pointed in Sansa's direction. I know she isnt the same person she was in the first book. I am aware of the shit that she went through and her character development. All of these things i am aware of. So saying i must do a reread to understand how "awesome" Sansa is, is really freaking condescending and doesnt make for a good counter argument. Some peeps just dont dig Sansa, dealwithit.gif

I thought the BWB was all but disbanded... Did i miss something? :(  My own hope is that Brienne will find some way to still uphold her end of the bargain with Jaime. I don't see them stabbing each other in the back.

She is complex. Theres a lot of things going on in Sansa's mind. And not all of it is rainbows and puppies. ;)
The thing that absolutely fascinates me about GRRMs ability to write is that even though a lot is on the paper, some cryptic, and some not, there is so much that we have to "bring to it" in thinking more about why they think that, or why they said that, why they act like they do.  I despised Sansa in the first book.  and i was supposed to - but i am certain this woman is a thinker, a strategist, and above all a growing (almost there) woman who is absorbing every lesson and is about to pull off something truly extraordinary in a political maneuver.  I can't wait to see it.  I have a great deal of respect for her internal fortitude in making it this long.

She'll be the last survivor... Patch Face will save her from the others, and she won't die from the Grey Scale plague that Jon Con is gonna unleash on Westeros because she already had it as a child xD

Honestly I dread anyone taking up the rule in the end. The continent will be so chaotic I don't think anyone will have enough power to rule the 7 Kingdoms from maybe a decade o.o

First post.

I think the emotional driver in the novels is the separation of the starks, not just physically but also because they never seem to get any reliable news.  For all they know the other family members are dead.  Honestly this is what has kept me reading the novels, and I suspect that goes for many others whether they realize it or not.

So, I'd hate for them not to get back together.  Which implies, of course that I don't want to see any more of them dead.

So, do i predict that no more Starks will die?   Yes.  That is my prediction.  Not arya, not Sansa, not rickon or bran.  i don't think Jon is dead, and won't be dead at the end, but I'm less confident on that.

My prediction is that, among other things, arya recovers her identity before she completely loses it, and returns to westerns to wreak vengeance.  On who?  Littlefinger, one or both Boltons, and one or more freys.  Arya will rescue Sansa.

How bout them apples?

I think this is definitely a valid point; I need some Stark reunions.

And I know this a little too much happy happy, but I think some great enmities will be set aside to fight the others. Such as,  Tyrion, as lord of house lannister, sets aside lannister ambition for IT to join with the north, river lands, etc.  I suspect something similar will happen with dany as well; she will give up sole rights to the IT as the price of alliance to fight the others.

Not saying lots more sad things won't happen, and lots more main characters won't be dead before its all over, but I think with respect to the others this is likely.

Jamie wil kill cersei and be killed himself.
