For those anticipating it, we’ve shared clips and details, but thanks to HBO, we’ve had the opportunity to get an early review copy. In brief, it lives up to the production values of the previous season, and in some places (such as the Histories, which I consider my personal favorite extra) exceeds them. The Blu-ray set is a showcase of the show’s very high production values, revealing it in the full glory of 1080p.read on >>>

Something they really need to fix is the silly 'overall menu' for the whole set. Click on a special feature and be told to put in Disc 8? Why not put just the menu for each disc on the disc? Would make a hell of a lot more sense.

I agree. It's incredibly annoying.

Totally agree. I'd watch a few episodes and then go to put on some bonus content and it's like, "Nope, gotta switch discs, sucka!"

Ideally I'd like to see discs 1-4 contain the episodes, with disc 5 being all the bonus content.

I did find three of them; we’ve no idea how many in total there are. One of these scenes may well please fans of Sansa and Sandor, another provides another look at the aftermath of an important event featuring Ser Loras and his sister Margaery, and the third relates to a rather… murderous turn of events in Dany’s storyline. We’ve had hints of all these scenes from interviews and comments made by actors and producers, so it’s nice to see them at last.

Deleted scenes: this is interesting!

What is the deleted scene between Sansa and Sandor about?

Irri's death is pretty self explanatory and WiC told us that the Loras and Margaery scene is pretty much about mourning with a hint of looking ahead for the family.

But I have'nt heard any reports on the Sansa/Hound scene, care to elaborate?

I'm assuming that the scene is Sansa saying that while she hopes The Hound realizes that she's appreciative of him sticking up for her and she's happy that he is not the monster he appears to be, that she never has and never will harbour any emotions other than respect for him. Then the Hound will agree with a quizzical look on his face and say "Of course, I can't believe anyone would think that I would have feelings like that for a little girl since that would make me a pretty huge pedophile and a creepy stalker to boot." Then they'd high five at the end of the scene while a million deluded little girl fans would go cry themselves to sleep quietly with their San/San fanfiction clutched tight in their hands.

I'll upload it to YouTube once I find it.

I'll be grateful to anyone who posts the deleted scenes on to YouTube! I don't have a Blu-Ray player, so I depend on fans who take the time to to create and upload these vids, allowing me to watch the bonus features I don't have access to.

The DVDs in the BR set, I believe, have only the episodes. You'll need a BR player for any of the extras.

I bought a cheap Samsung BR player for the bedroom a few months ago, it was on sale for $60 at Best Buy. I know some genuinely can't afford that but it's really not that expensive these days. Ironically we use it mostly for Netflix :)

HBO mistakenly released a still that shows the two of them together and claimed it would appear in episode four. The common assumption is that the deleted scene will be from this still. Picture here if you want to look at it: http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/sandor-clegane/images/30544141/title/sandor-clegane-sansa-stark-photo

Also, 3 different version of their scene during the BBW were shot so it is possible that the deleted scenes will be the two that were not aired. However, my guess is it will be the scene that I mentioned in the previous paragraph.

To me that looks like the Hound telling Sansa the story about how he got his burns. I heard rumours that they were moving it to S2 after the shooting difficulties in S1 that stopped it being filmed, but I guess it got cut once more for being redundant.

I don't have a Blu-Ray player but I went ahead and bought the Blu-Ray/DVD combo, I can't afford both a Blu-Ray player and the Blu-Ray set.

Maybe I'll get a Blu-Ray player for my birthday a few weeks from now.

So I should still be able to watch the DVD version right?

PS3 is a great bluray player...and I think they're relatively cheap now that the PS4 is on the way
