Wheel of Time - What have you done to me?

I've always wanted to try Cornwell. Maybe now is the time. Any suggestions about which should be read first?

By the way am I the only one who has the feeling that the first WOT novel, The Eye Of the World, was written in a manner that it could be a stand alone novel with a somewhat satisfying ending but left the door open to sequels if it sold enough copies? I also have the same feeling about book 2, The Great Hunt. If I remember correctly, it's really in the 3rd book that they actually tell you it's only the beginning and it will be a long way to go before the last battle.

Warlord Chronicles and Saxon Tales are his best IMO. Read whichever interests you more.
