I watched the pilot tonight on BBC America. Pretty frackin' solid. Definitely check it out if you can. Trailers here:

Usually pilots have sucktastic suckiness, but this one starts off pretty dang solid.

thought this was pretty bad. i know some critics are talking it up after the first four. but

looks low budget. horrendous cinematography and the effects scream, "i just started using movie maker"

the main girl is ok but some of the other characters are unacceptably bad actors, especially the boyfriend.

the premise is unoriginal and is the type of plot where the pilot is usually the best episode. could be wrong but i did not see much promise here.

This is my new favorite show, the premise is very cool, the lead actress is terrific, all the characters have well defined personalities, and they do a great job ratcheting up the tension in believable ways.

Yep, this is a win. My new favorite show too. I especially like that they aren't dragging things out. Most of the ideas in one episode of this would have been dragged out for a whole season in other shows.

will say it has improved greatly since the pilot. the budget per episode has clearly increased, and its really better when she is on screen with versions of herself as a few of the other actors in major roles are still terrible.

if you can tone out the awful scoring, its climbed into the ok range, imo

I think it's a decent show, and the lead actress is good. On the other hand, her ass is not, and I'd wish they'd show less of it.

Watched the first two episodes on DVR and I have absolutely no issues with ass quality. As far as the show goes, it's intriguing and I am willing to hang on to see where they go with this conspiracy. Kudos as well for being equally exploitative of male nudity because I watch this with my wife and she's always bitching that its only the gals that get nekid.

The first will be apart of the series for as long as it goes, but it can't be the whole show. If they rap up the 2nd fairly quickly, and go into other things great, if the let it hang around, then the show will suck.

I think you are wrong about Mrs. S, or at least she isn't working with them. Maybe she broke away, and they lost track of them. I don't know if "suitable" but they have been placed, and are being watched. I kind of missed what the blond say, will have to rewatch it. I don't think the french chick is the watcher for the one in MN, seems to easy an answer. Why wouldn't she have had someone before?

I'm loving this show. Cool characters and suspenseful story.

It will probably be the typical diabolical multinational pharmaceutical corporation trope, but that's ok.

I've really been enjoying this show, on episode 5 I think so far. Kudos to the main actress for playing like half a dozen characters, as well as those half a dozen characters playing each other.

My favourite characters are Felix (hilarious) and the black police officer (inexplicably as he's such a curmudgeon).

I'm starting to rethink my "two camps" theory. I almost wonder if blondie (Angel) is part of group A - (was the man's name Thomas?). The conditions seemed super shady when he was sewing her up.

Then, there is group B - where Paul (Beth's BF/monitor) is. This seems the more squeaky-clean corporation deal.

I don't know. We'll see.

I do like how they pace some of this. We don't spend 2 seasons (like some network television shows), slowly peeling back the layers of "OMG, am I a clone?" or watching Sarah to prove that she's really a police officer. It moves the story ahead instead of finding ways to restrain it.

The galloping pace is great. I think they realise the appeal is seeing the lead actress play as many different personalities as possible. Not having entire episodes where she whines about her feelings in response to things she discovers is a relief.

I'm just hoping this doesn't lead to some stupid cliche plot of the clones existing to provide spare body parts for the original. I will burn down Toronto so they don't have a set to make more episodes if that turns out to be the case.

The best is when she has to play one clone pretending to be another clone. Total mindfuck, but she manages to pull it off.

Even all played by the same person they feel like distinct personalities.

A galloping pace is tough to execute and sustain. The clone premise gives them some flexibility in this regard since they can always introduce another.

Aha, it's actually set in Toronto! I heard "New York" in the first episode someplace, and then the money didn't look like US Dollars, and then I wasn't sure. That's refreshing.

Yep, in Toronto. Allison lives to the east, in Scarborough, which I think Felix or someone might have referred to by its traditional slur, Scarberia. Or maybe I imagined that.
