The Pita
I'd like to read a book where the focus was on people talking rather than on the plot or anything. Especially something made in like the last 20 years or so.Do any exist?Apathy and other small victories by Paul Neilan is pretty much an entire book of dialogue and other entertaining situations without much of an actual plot. I like it.
Howdyphillip
The Road by Cormac McCarthy focuses almost entirely on dialogue between a father and his son in a post-apocalyptic landscape (I wouldn't call it banter though). This couldn't be further from the truth... The Road focuses on Cormac McCarthy's incessant need to please himself with ambiguous prose and a lack of appreciation for the English language. The vehicle of delivery for this is a depressing, and thoroughly unbelievable post apocalypse world in which there are two main characters who interact with one another. The very last words that I would use to describe Cormack McCarthy is dialog driven. Werthead
If you took the dialogue out of The Road, it'd be a pamphlet. The descriptive prose is pretty sparse in the book.
