Tattooing: The Sequel-Not Loved Enough as Children...

another thread to discuss that which we have and that which we want.

hell, we can even discuss why if people like.

i shall open it up with the eddie finished.

five hours of outline and black shading, two sessions each of four hours to put in the color. my side feels like hot hamburger. i am sore from laying on my side the whole time. despite, the endorphins are still running high and i am so happy to finally have an iron maiden tattoo. i wanted a tattoo showing my love for maiden since i was probably 13 years old.

13 year old me would be so proud!

Aces High, motherfucker!! It will be good and gnarly when we see each other in a few days. I will demand a proper viewing at MDF.

I have my first color session in two days. I need to take photos of the outline beforehand, but some of the NYC BWB saw it. Forearm piece to finish up the sleeve -- two skulls, and one of the world's most poisonous plants.

sweet. i look forward to seeing your piece.

i am out of the tattoo collecting for a good long while. i just cannot see myself sitting down for a tattoo any time soon. this one really took a lot out of me. the baphomet on my right side was nothing in comparison to sheer intensity.

odd thing, there were points he would hit on my side that would instantly make me need to pee.

I can totally understand that. What you just got was huge and involved and really painful. Highly colored large tattoos are REALLY painful compared to a grey-shaded tattoo (speaking from experience with both). Mine will be all gnarly this weekend, but you'll at least get the gist of what it'll look like once it's done.

We will drink to ink when you guys are in town.

MC - it looks amazing!

X-Ray - I'm double bummed that I missed the meetup bc I really wanted to see your work in progress.

I'm stopping at the shop tomorrow to get some small symbols done. I'm working on filling in my left arm to a proper almost-half sleeve. Pics to follow once the big piece is underway.

I am still working on my right sleeve. It won't be finished until Fall most likely. I won't post it until then, but it is a scene of Thor battling Jormungandr. My left arm is a kind of abstract tribal sleeve I guess is the best way to describe it.

Nice!

I've been itching to get another tattoo for a while now. But I haven't been able to really nail down a design yet. There two options right now: The first is to take the atom tattoo on my right upper arm (This isn't me, but it looks similar to mine.) and do something more with. I like it a lot as is, but I've been thinking for a while about somehow incorporating it into a larger design. I'm just not sure what it would be.

The other would be to get some sort of space-related tattoo on my left upper arm to be a parallel. I could end up doing both, but, thing is, I want one arm to be mostly clear with just a smaller piece and the other arm to be a half-sleeve down to my elbow. But I gotta figure out which is which.

And that'll probably be the end of it. I think my legs have enough ink, and I don't think I could deal with getting anything on my torso. Seems like it would hurt way too much.

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo, but I'm conflicted on wether to tell my parents first or just spring it on them? By any chance this wouldn't be the Aces High in West Palm Beach would it?

MC - awesome tat!

Xray - wha? no shrimp? :) both tats are very nice. Love the colors.

My own tattoo is so old and faded, I am seriously considering having it re-done and adding a blue rose. The young man that did my daughters did such an amazing job of creating a tattoo for her inspired by mine, I am looking forward to working with him and seeing what he comes up with. Here's some of hers: http://imageshack.us/a/img29/8062/010enq.jpg

Fantastic work, X-Ray! Love them.

It depends on what you think their reaction would be. My mum's really laid-back and since I don't live at home it's ultimately my decision. If you live with your parents, I'd probably do them the courtesy of telling them beforehand, and asking how they'd react if you got one. My friend didn't tell her mum before she got her first one and she hit the roof.

My personal opinion is if you live under their roof, you abide by their rules, or at least do them the courtesy of letting them know your plans :)

I have pictures of my newest tattoo on Facebook but only friends can see it. I'll look into an imageshack account or something so I can share.
