[Book spoilers] Sansa and Petyr

Honestly, I loved the scene. It's already setting up their relationship in the coming seasons, it portraits Sansa doing something at least, even if failing. And it kind of is 'Lies and Arbor Gold, class one'. Of course, there is no way LF was going to believe Sansa's lie. Both act as if they are friends, but both of them know they aren't friends so, while Sansa is expected act as if she cares about LF safety, both know she doesn't care.

Sansa, however, can not know LF knows Loras is bethrothed to someone - and that reveal, for a change, it's not Sansa's fault, which allows LF to put two and two together. I guess her failure is not putting a bit of truth in the lie, she can't really expect LF to believe her. Maybe she doesn't expect him to believe her, but underestimates him.

In any case, she's already on her path.

First alone your use of the term relationship let me shudder

In the last episodes LF strikes me as a sort of comic villan, I don't like it and I want to punch show LF nearly as much in the face as Book LF. I don't like the scene

The scene creeped me out. LF is so obviously perving on Sansa, whereas that wasn't evident to me in books until much later. I wonder if the show's emphasis on the LF & Sansa relationship (as opposed to Sansa and the Hound) means that the show's producers have some insight into Sansa's overall story arc. Maybe she will switch over to the dark side and be LF's accomplice? Seven gods, I hope not!!

Yeah. IDK if it was me or Sophie Turner or what, but I was getting the impression that she was responding positively to his creepiness. I saw something in the Winds of Winter subforum that said there is a "controversial" Sansa chapter in it. I don't know any more than that though

I don't think the show's Sansa is especially trusting of him. She refused his initial offer; she accepted the second one after being baited with news of her sister, but turned him down when she got what looked like a more trustworthy offer from the Tyrells.

Removing Dontos from the story does have the effect of giving her a lot more interaction with Littlefinger early on than she had in the books, though.

I guess her failure is not putting a bit of truth in the lie, she can't really expect LF to believe her. Maybe she doesn't expect him to believe her, but underestimates him.

If, as Sansa believed, Littlefinger had no idea about her engagement, the most obvious subtext that he might derive from her refusal would likely be that she was too scared to try and leave right now, I think. It's not a bad cover, even though it doesn't work.

In any event, from her POV, he can't forcibly abduct her, so refusing to go with him, so long as he doesn't know what she's really up to, the risk is minimal.

I agree that Sansa seems to trust LF more in the TV show than she did in the books, but saying that Sansa didn't have a chance to really trust or mistrust LF until after Joffrey's wedding. I'm not sure why they changed this particular ark. I'm worried about where Sansa's ark is going in comparison to the books. I think the books played Sansa's ark in a SoS perfectly and it worked very well. I'm not saying the TV show can't pull it off and maybe they'll even find another way to pull it off really well, I dunno.

As stated above, I don't think she does trust him as much as I think most are saying she does. I think her experience in King's Landing and Joffrey promising Ed mercy before cutting his head off must've rubbed off somewhat on her. I think, personally, she is wary of LF but LF's just too clever for her to know what he's up too. (Although him perving on her is a bit obvious)

Oh yeah also, someone mentioned LF's accent has changed and was better in season 1? I don't actually hear a difference personally but maybe I've just adapted? I don't mind it that much.

It's not so much the accent as it is the voice quality. He sounds like he has a sore throat half the time to me.

Also, in the WoW thread previously mentioned, it's generally being speculated that it means there will be a consensual sex scene between Sansa and LF, or (as I believe) a lesbian rape threesome between Sansa, Mya, and Myranda. Probably just going to be the first one.

That whole scene was hilarious to me. I think Sansa suspects that Littlefinger is more fond of her than he says but she is trying to respect him as a friend of her mother's.

The cuts were hilarious. Petyr and male prostitute, " Loras is getting married? To who?"

Cut to Sansa and Petyr:" Okay, you don't want leave with me now? Alright. We'll talk when I get back."

Cut to the Lannister's discussing the potential marriage. LMAO! Petyr wasted no time at all!

After her marriage to Tyrion, he'll probably bring back the hairnet and say, " So Sansa, about leaving with me..."

The thing that confused me is Varys. So the Tyrells are going to plot with Varys and then turn around and plot with Littlefinger to kill Joffrey. So he's probably going to do something during the wedding to scare the hell out of them.

It's not out of character for them but in the books it was planned well in advance. Doesn't Sansa get the hairnet at the end of ACoK?

She got the hair net from Dontos and I think they're cutting him out so maybe the poison will come from something else

It'll be Petyr or the Tyrells who give it to her probably. But I hope Sansa in on the whole thing and takes a more active role. Like it's her putting poison in the wine and not Olenna.

Sansa has at least got a bit better at lying, and rather than giving everything away she doesn't trust LF enough to mention the Tyrells. So there's some progress on her part, especially considering a few episodes ago tells LF that she's a terrible liar and you can sort of see in his head he think "Yeah you are really bad, good point."

Of course he knows she's withholding information, but that's because of his spies and less to do with her poor lying.

I thought Marg put it in the wine. Olenna fixed the hairnet to get the poison, handed it to Marg, and had Marg poison it. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for Olenna to come over and drop something into the goblet; it'd be conspicuous. But as Marg was drinking out of it as well, she had a clear chance to do so without being seen. I don't want Sansa to be in on it, personally. There's no real reason to have her be, that I can think of.
