unSonofStannis
He might but in the end it doesnt matter because I believe whoever takes the throne after Tommen will promptly have KL sacked by a horde of Ironborn and Euron cutting them up into seven pieces. Waylin Stark
No way.He has no chance. No way any lord will support the bastard son of Robert Baratheon. They have no reason to support a smith's apprentice.
RainBow
Why do people keep overrating Gendry? To spell it out bluntly, he is a nobody. Almost no one knows about him and even fewer actually cares about him.He is a bastard with no education what so ever. If he survives he will stay a smith. And no. There will not be a reunion leading up to a romance with Arya. Don't even go there.
Chatty Duelist
I believe now that he's got an army, the High Septon might make it his prerogative to legitimize a bastard to avoid giving the crown to R'hhlor-worshipping Stannis. (If Tommen & Myrcella are proved to be Lannister bastards, for example). *cough* Aegon VI *cough*
JustOneGuy
If Tommen and Myrcella die, if Dany and Aegon fail to conquer Westeros, if the kingdom somehow gets rid of the Others, if Stannis and Shireen die, if their remains no Baratheon or Targaryen alive (because highborn cousins have better claim than bastard children), if the people accept a bastard as their king, if Jon Snow is not son of Rhaegar, if Mya Stone and Edric Storm pass away, then maybe..:)

AryaNymeriaVisenya
I think he'll get Storm's End at least. I'm hoping for Gendry: The Storm King. He'll melt the Iron Throne down to use as pots and pans for the people of fleabottom. People need to let Edric Storm go for the following reasons: 1. He is a recognised Bastard. With no natural successor and the Stormlands fallen to Aegon who is going to run to support him in Lys? Estermonts? Florents? Not exactly huge players. More likely he's assasinated in the scramble to the top 2. Edric brings a Florent alliance. That's nice. They aren't a huge house though. He'll need to marry well. So, who does he marry. Auntie / 'Sister in law' Margaery? She may be not survive the Lannisters. Arianne is going for Aegon. Danaerys will not marry usurper spawn. Sansa is married, legally. That leaves Arya. Not going to happen. 3. Stannis needs to cement a shaky alliance in the North. Arya is the only Stark sister single. Edric doesn't stand a chance. Gendry might. 4. Edric is in Lys with few safe places to land in Westeros. Gendry is in the Riverlands with Bob's Men and buddy Thoros of Myr. Dany sees a battle against soldiers clad in ice at the Trident coming. 5. Edric is the younger of the two male bastards Stannis is aware of. If it comes down to Stannis, Gendry as the older son will become the heir. He made the Onion Knight, he can make a Blacksmith King. 6. If a Stark is declaring for any of them its going to be the guy who looked out for Arya on the Kingsroad. He's made a powerful alliance with the eventual winner of this whole thing. Gendry saved the life of the Lord of Evenfall' daughter and was knighted by Lord Beric of House Dondarrion. Stormlands bannermen, no guarantee of support but warms up relations there.
SpringKing
Why do people keep overrating Gendry? To spell it out bluntly, he is a nobody. Almost no one knows about him and even fewer actually cares about him. He is a bastard with no education what so ever. If he survives he will stay a smith. Nobody's dont get glowing prognostications like Ned's: "If the day ever comes when Gendry would rather wield a sword than forge one, send him to me. He has the look of a warrior." Raff the Sweetling and Dunsen, wearing Gendry's bull helm now, are on the way to Maidenpool, escorting Robin Ryger and Desmond Grell to Maidenpool. Guaranteed Gendry will get his helm back and go on to play some warrior's part in the continuing conflict.
The Kinkslayer
Gendry is one of few named characters that can actually make a sword, so he's my front runner for Azor Ahai
ambi76
I would not fall of my chair in surprise if that happened, but maybe he'll have to settle for Lord of the Stormlands in the end.
RainBow
Gendry fled form KL and survived. His role and importance has ended unless Melisandre wants to sacrifice him. He truly has no place upon the IT. Nor would it lead to a good ending for the people of the seven kingdoms.

He truly has no place upon the IT. Nor would it lead to a good ending for the people of the seven kingdoms. If that were true he'd be dead. There is no reason to send Robert's bastard with Arya out of Kings Landing if he was meant to do nothing. That kid could have been anyone. He wasn't. GRRM keeps throwing Baratheons and Starks together for some reason. That has to be going somewhere at least. Arya just happens to hit it off with Gendry. Sansa just happens to befriend Mya all the way in the Vale. Jon and Stannis have a good working relationship and understanding. They can't all just be reflections of Ned and Robert or Robert and Lyanna.
RoamingRonin
I'm assuming he becomes king after he reforges Ice. He can present it to Arya as a wedding gift.
