you guys don't know what the "fig" is don't you ?

Awesome Mighty. Once I gave a Brazilian friend the sign for OK and he laughed. I asked him why he was amused. He told me if you invert OK, it basically means up your as&.

we do this in germany, too

you can add to that, saying eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhh, but that's more between my friends and me :D

It's pretty common here too. Maybe in every post-socialist country? But it's nowhere near as rude as giving somebody your middle-finger. Is the not so in Russia?

well, it's still pretty rude here, but generally yes the finger is considered worse and more public

it's not as rude as the middle finger, but it's great to shame somebody when he fails to do something

Interesting. Here it isn't that rude. Well, it's really good to know cultural differences like that though, thanks a lot for telling :)

dictionaries need to have insult sign language from now on in them ;)

There were these little books a few years ago... something like, Beware English/German/French/Spanish and they all contained the slang expressions and insults and taboo words of each language. Unfortunately, there were no copies for other languages...

Yeah, it'd be fun if dictionaries had a special section for How to insult people in ____ (insert language) :"D Oh LOL
